摘要: The present disclosure provides an anti-corrosive wrapping for a metal pipe (10) (or a metal pipe fitting). The wrapping has an innerwrap (14) including glass fibres which carries a viscoelastic thermoplastic corrosion protection material (13). The wrapping has an outerwrap (16) including glass fibres which is impregnated with an adhesive. The innerwrap (14) is wrappable around the metal pipe (10) with the viscoelastic thermoplastic corrosion protection material (13) carried by the innerwrap (14) engaging and covering an external surface of the metal pipe (10). The outerwrap (16) is wrapped around the innerwrap (13) and the adhesive impregnated in the outerwrap (16) penetrates the innerwrap (13) and thereby adheres the outerwrap (16) to the innerwrap (13).

摘要: A wrap tape cassette for a subsea pipeline repair or coating machine includes a drum for carrying a wrap tape wound on the drum. A housing defines an exit opening for the wrap tape to be dispensed from the drum onto a pipeline during a repair or coating operation. The drum may be mounted to the housing for rotational and longitudinal movement relative to the housing to dispense the wrap tape through the exit opening on being unwound from the drum. A leading end of the wrap tape may be attached to an anchor element that is arranged as a closure for the exit opening and, when moved from the exit opening, for attachment to a pipeline being repaired or coated.

The hybrid piston pin includes a cylindrical pin formed of steel, a first reinforcement layer that is formed of a composite that includes reinforced fibers and a resin, having a cylindrical shape with a uniform thickness, and coupled to the interior surface of the cylindrical pin. A second reinforcement layer is formed of a composite that includes reinforced fibers having an elasticity that is less than the reinforced fibers of the first reinforcement layer. Further, a resin having a cylindrical shape with a uniform thickness is coupled to the interior surface of the first reinforcement layer.

摘要: The present invention is a method for strengthening a vertical column, such as piles under piers and docks and for columns in bridges and buildings. A coiled FRP laminate is provided and wrapped in a helical fashion around the column, with the laminate overlapping itself. An epoxy resin coating is applied between the overlapping portions. The epoxy resin will then cure to form a substantially water tight shell. A plurality of spacers may be fixed to the column and adapted to hold the laminate a set distance away from the column. A plurality of sealing means is provided to seal the space between the shell and the column. A filler material may be pressurized to fill the space, penetrate cracks in the column, and displace water. Also, a plurality of rigid strengthening rods may be added between the column and the shell to further strengthen the column.

摘要: A non-compliant fiber-reinforced medical balloon comprises a first fiber layer and a second fiber layer embedded in a continuous matrix of thermally-weldable polymer material defining a barrel wall, cone walls and neck walls. The fibers of the first fiber layer have a pattern of different lengths and are divisible into a first group and a second group based on length. The length of the fibers of the second group varies progressively in accordance to their proximity to the fibers of the first group; the fibers of the second group closest to the fibers of the first group being longer than the fibers of the second group further from the fibers of the first group. The fiber of the second fiber layer winds circumferentially around the longitudinal axis of the balloon substantially over the entire length of the balloon.

摘要: A method of manufacturing paint roller covers is disclosed in which the paint roller covers are manufactured from a seamless segment of tubular paint roller cover fabric that is placed onto a cylindrical forming tube having a segment of bonding material temporarily secured on its outer surface under the segment of tubular paint roller cover fabric. The cylindrical forming tube is placed on a heated mandrel to apply heat thereto to cause the bonding material to bond to the interior of the segment of tubular paint roller cover fabric. The cylindrical forming tube is removed from the mandrel and cooled, and the segment of tubular paint roller cover fabric becomes secured to the bonding material to produce a semi-rigid paint roller cover segment. The semi-rigid paint roller cover segment may be finished into paint roller covers by cutting it into appropriately sized segments, combing and shearing the pile fabric to a desired length, beveling the edges of the paint roller covers, and vacuuming stray fibers from the paint roller covers.

摘要: A protective seal, a protective seal kit, and a method for sealing a joint region between pipes are provided. The protective seal includes a first wrap, comprising a corrosion-resistant material, wrapped around a seal region, contacting the outer surface of the pipeline assembly. A second wrap, comprising a self-adhering fiberglass composite, wraps around the first wrap. The kit includes a flexible wrap fabricated, in part, from a corrosion-resistant material, and a second flexible wrap fabricated, in part, from a fiberglass cloth impregnated with a resinous pliable-plastic material. The method includes wrapping a corrosion-resistant, inner wrap around first and second pipes such that this wrap surrounds the joint region and adheres to the pipes. A fiberglass-composite outer wrap is wrapped around the inner wrap and the first and second pipes such that the outer wrap surrounds the inner wrap and adheres to the pipes. The outer wrap is cured.
