    摘要: A reinforced pipe and a method of preparing the reinforced pipe are provided. The reinforced pipe has repair area where a wrinkle bend is present in a center section of the repair area. The reinforced pipe comprises a unidirectional fabric circumferentially wrapped around the repair area of the pipe so as to result in multiple layers of the unidirectional fabric around the repair area. The unidirectional fabric is composed of high-performance fibers with at least 90% of the high-performance fibers oriented in the 90° direction, and the unidirectional fabric is wrapped such that the high-performance fibers run in the axial direction. The reinforced pipe further comprises a bidirectional fabric wrapped of over the unidirectional fabric such the at least one layer of bidirectional fabric is wrapped over the unidirectional fabric.

    摘要: The device for the local repair or strengthening of an elongate body exhibiting a change in its integrity, by winding one or more layers of tape around the elongate body, comprises two half rings, each having two ends configured to come into contact with one another, means for moving the two half rings relative to one another until they surround the elongate body, without touching, and means for translating the two half rings relative to one another along an axis perpendicular to the axis of the elongate body until the ends of the half rings are in contact to form a ring surrounding the elongate body. In the embodiments, the device includes, on at least one of the half rings, at least one centering pin corresponding, in the other half ring, to an opening with a shape complementary to the shape of the centering pin.

Some of the various structures may be used to transport water, gas, oil, and the like. Multiple layers of various material sheets, each sheet having substantially the same or different properties, may be impregnated with resin and wrapped around or attached to the surface of a structure to be reinforced or to the surface of a spacer shell surrounding the structure and subjected to heat to cure the resin and to bond the reinforcement sheets to the structure or the spacer shell. The multiple layers together constitute a heat-cured structure reinforcement wrap (HRW) to reinforce the structure against external and internal loads, such as weight, impact load, blast load, internal pressure, ballistic load, and the like.

    摘要: A protective seal, a protective seal kit, and a method for sealing a joint region between pipes are provided. The protective seal includes a first wrap, comprising a corrosion-resistant material, wrapped around a seal region, contacting the outer surface of the pipeline assembly. A second wrap, comprising a self-adhering fiberglass composite, wraps around the first wrap. The kit includes a flexible wrap fabricated, in part, from a corrosion-resistant material, and a second flexible wrap fabricated, in part, from a fiberglass cloth impregnated with a resinous pliable-plastic material. The method includes wrapping a corrosion-resistant, inner wrap around first and second pipes such that this wrap surrounds the joint region and adheres to the pipes. A fiberglass-composite outer wrap is wrapped around the inner wrap and the first and second pipes such that the outer wrap surrounds the inner wrap and adheres to the pipes. The outer wrap is cured.
