Abstract:
Disclosed is a film attachment apparatus for a housing of an electronic apparatus. The film attachment apparatus according to various embodiments, which adheres a film on the surface of a housing plate in an electronic apparatus having an edge portion having a curve, comprises: a jig configured to mount and fix the housing plate; a roller configured to press the film with respect to the housing plate; a vertical driving portion configured to move the roller from the upper portion to the lower portion of the surface of the housing plate, to which the film is adhered, and to press the roller with respect to the film; and a horizontal driving portion configured to move the roller from the surface of the housing plate in the direction toward the edge portion of the housing plate.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a heavy-duty upgrading method for rotor blades of existing wind turbines and to a plastic membrane used in the method according to the invention, wherein the rotor blades are covered and/or extended in that at least one fibre-reinforced or fabric-reinforced plastic membrane is fitted onto an outer surface of the original aerodynamic profile of the rotor blade being upgraded and the original contour of the rotor blade being upgraded is then joined to the upgraded rotor blade.
Abstract:
A Corrosion Inhibiting Sprayable Thermoplastic (“CIST”) cover is formed by spraying melted CIST onto a mold, allowing the CIST to cure, removing the cured cover from the mold using a series of cuts if necessary, positioning the cover on a mechanical assembly whose shape is significantly identical to the mold, and fusing the cuts on the cover using heat to reform the cover on the mechanical assembly.
Abstract:
The present invention is a method for strengthening a vertical column, such as piles under piers and docks and for columns in bridges and buildings. A coiled FRP laminate is provided and wrapped in a helical fashion around the column, with the laminate overlapping itself. An epoxy resin coating is applied between the overlapping portions. The epoxy resin will then cure to form a substantially water tight shell. A plurality of spacers may be fixed to the column and adapted to hold the laminate a set distance away from the column. A plurality of sealing means is provided to seal the space between the shell and the column. A filler material may be pressurized to fill the space, penetrate cracks in the column, and displace water. Also, a plurality of rigid strengthening rods may be added between the column and the shell to further strengthen the column.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for the highly-thick thermal coating of joints by using electrofusion in pipes used for conducting fluids, made of steel tubes externally coated with polyolefins, characterized in that it comprises the following steps: a) Placing an anticorrosive coating on the steel pipes to be joined; b) Placing and adjusting the half-round pipes in the connection area of the pipes, and possibly, the linking parts; c) Exerting pressure between the half-round pipes by using compression equipment; d) Connecting the electrical resistances to an external power source; e) Electrofusion welding the adjacent surfaces; f) Cooling and disassembling the compression elements of step c).
Abstract:
An apparatus and method of manufacturing a skeg protector to cover a motorboat skeg to prevent damage to the skeg and to the propellers. The SkegProtector™ apparatus is made of a composite of non-stainless steel woven material of high material strength and durability, such as carbon fiber, Kevlar®, fiberglass, titanium, and polyethylene fiber. It is affixed over the skeg using marine grade underwater adhesive, and without installing bolts or other mechanical means to secure it. Methods of manufacture comprise the use of curing using a heated platen press on aluminum molds encasing multiple layers (7) of woven material and a mandrel.
Abstract:
Assemblies and methods for applying painter's tape to a wall for painting stripes and patterns on the wall wherein the assembly has a first elongated body defining a first straight outer edge and a first inner edge and having a first body length and a second elongated body defining a second straight outer edge and a second inner edge and having a second body length. The assembly also includes at least one arm having a first end rotatably coupled to the first elongated body and a second end rotatably coupled to the second elongated body, each of the arms having an arm length and configured to space the first elongated body apart from the second elongated body such that the first straight outer edge is a taping distance from the second straight outer edge.
Abstract:
The present invention refers to a method of manufacturing a micro patterned device. The method can comprise or consist of applying a light curable epoxy resin to a mold to obtain a curable resin filled mold. In a further step a polymeric film or an epoxy resin-coated glass is applied over the curable resin filled mold. Subsequently, the curable resin filled mold to which the polymeric film or the epoxy resin-coated glass is applied is irradiated to cure the resin. In another aspect the present invention refers to a micro patterned device obtained by a method described herein.
