Abstract: An integrated autonomous air purification device for taking in polluted air, carrying it through the inside of the purification device where it passes through a set of filtering elements (1) that trap the dust particles contained in the air; ultraviolet-light lamps (2) that transform NOX and CO gases in the air into harmless compounds; an activated carbon filter (4) that traps and eliminates the volatile organic compounds and inorganic acidic gases; second filtering elements (5) that carry out a second filtering; and an extraction hood (6) configured to direct the air coming out of the second filtering elements (5) to at least one nozzle (7) that expels the air to the outside of the purification device.

Abstract: Functionalized filter materials consist of carbons and ceramic substrates for special antimicrobial, phase transfer, and catalytic properties and the method of preparation thereof. The filters are coated with different types of inorganic and polymer impregnates for specific applications in air and water pollution control and catalysis. The substrates are activated by special processes and the impregnates may be reacted with certain redox systems to help increase their efficacy.

Abstract: Provided are: a carbon dioxide processing agent capable of fixing and decomposing carbon dioxide without the need for a heat treatment; and a method of producing a carbon dioxide processing agent, by which a carbon dioxide processing agent containing an oxygen-deficient magnetite can be produced without the need for a heat treatment in a hydrogen gas atmosphere. The carbon dioxide processing agent contains a magnesium oxide, an oxygen-deficient magnetite, and a zeolite. The method of producing a carbon dioxide processing agent includes the steps of: mixing and stirring a magnetite and a zeolite to obtain a mixed powder in which pores of the zeolite are filled with the magnetite; adding water to the mixed powder to obtain a mixture; and adhering a fine powder of magnesium oxide to the mixture and drying the resultant.

Abstract: Methods and systems for recovering terpenes and controlling the composition of terpenes collected from wood drying processes are provided. In particular, a sorbent having adsorbed materials, including terpenes, from a wood drying process can be desorbed in a desorber, resulting in a gaseous stream containing terpenes, which can be condensed and collected from the gaseous stream. The conditions of desorption can be controlled to ensure a desirable amount of alpha-pinene and beta-pinene relative to other terpenes, such as dipentene and camphene, in the collected terpenes.

Abstract: The present invention provides a process for continuous treatment of high-concentration organic wastewater and a device for continuous treatment of high-concentration organic wastewater. The process of the present application is that: high-concentration organic wastewater is continuously separated through the synergistic interaction of a multilayer evaporator and a heat pump, and the generated wastewater steam containing light components is continuously subjected to desulfurization and catalytic combustion after being mixed with air in a gaseous form, the treated wastewater can meet discharge standards, and heavy components of the generated wastewater can be recycled. After the desulfurizing agent in a first desulfurizer and the catalyst in a first catalytic combustor are deactivated, the generated wastewater steam containing the light components can be switched to a second desulfurizer and a second catalytic combustor for reaction, and air can be introduced into the deactivated catalyst and desulfurizing agent for in-situ regeneration at a high temperature.

Abstract: Combustion systems are provided that can include a combustion assembly operatively engaged with an air intake, wherein the air intake performs air enrichment.
Methods for enriching air to a combustion assembly are also provided. The methods can include: forming an N2-rich stream and an O2-rich stream from a first air stream; supplementing a second air stream with the O2-rich stream to enrich the second air stream with O2; and combusting the enriched air stream.
Systems for separating CO2 from flue gas are also provided. The systems can include a vortex tube assembly operably coupled to a component of the system that provides pressurized N2.
Methods for heating or cooling components of a system for separating CO2 from flue gas are also provided. The methods can include: providing compressed nitrogen from one or more components of the system to a vortex tube to form a heated nitrogen stream and cooled nitrogen stream; providing the heated nitrogen stream to components benefiting from a heat source; and providing the cooled nitrogen stream to components benefiting from a cooling source.
Systems for separating CO2 from flue gas can also include a separation assembly that includes a membrane assembly configured to separate CO2 from N2.
Methods for separating CO2 from flue gas can also include providing a flue gas stream comprising CO2 and N2 to a first membrane separation system to form a CO2-rich stream and an N2-rich stream.-

Abstract: Described herein is a dry sorbent injection system and process for removing sulfur oxides from a flue gas. The process generally comprises treating the flue gas with a dry sorbent material to convert the sulfur oxides to sodium sulfate particulates. The sodium sulfate particulates may then be introduced into a mix tank with water to form sodium sulfate solution. The sodium sulfate solution may then be reacted with a calcium hydroxide slurry to produce a reaction mixture comprising calcium sulfate precipitate and a sodium hydroxide solution. The calcium sulfate (gypsum) may be recovered, and the sodium hydroxide solution may be recirculated to pre-treat the flue gas by removing at least a portion of the sulfur dioxide and/or cooling the flue gas stream.
