摘要: The present invention relates to a superior carbon adsorbent with or without a core. In one embodiment the carbon adsorbent of the present invention employs carbon adsorbent powder and an organic binding agent which are combined together with an appropriate solvent in an agglomeration step. In another embodiment the invention contemplates a core-in-shell adsorbent comprising an outer shell composed of a carbon and a non-adsorbing inert inner core. Low temperature processing of these agglomerates substantially preserves the binding agent within the final composition and allows one to prepare adsorbent products of high sphericity. The adsorbents of the invention possess superior characteristics such as higher mass transfer rate and CO2 working capacity for use in a H2PSA process.

摘要: A method and system for the offshore production of fuel includes an offshore marine platform on which is mounted an ammonia production unit. The ammonia production unit may produce ammonia utilizing raw materials sourced adjacent the marine platform, including seawater and electricity from offshore wind turbines. The produced ammonia may be subsequently liquified and transported away from the marine platform, or conveyed to a remote location via a seabed pipeline. A portion of the hydrogen produced as part of the ammonia production process may be utilized to operate onboard combustion turbines that can in turn drive electric generators onboard the marine platform to produce electricity.

摘要: A pressure-swing adsorption (PSA) system includes a plurality of substantially similar pairs of towers, each tower containing adsorbent material for separating a gas into components. Each tower has a top header and the bottom headers, the headers being connected to extensions which define conduit segments. When a new pair of towers is placed alongside an existing pair of towers, the conduit segments are aligned to define longer conduits spanning all of the pairs of towers. Thus, the longer conduits can be used to direct gas into towers from all of the pairs, and to withdraw product gas from towers in all of the pairs. The capacity of the PSA system can thus be easily expanded or reduced. Some or all of the piping used to direct gas to and from the towers is replaced by one or more control blocks, which define passages for gas flow.

摘要: A system and method for rehabilitating a water well using compressed nitrogen. The method includes compressing air to a first pressure higher than atmospheric pressure; providing the air at the first pressure to a nitrogen generator; removing oxygen from the air, resulting in a nitrogen gas having at least 80% nitrogen; compressing the nitrogen gas to a second pressure higher than the first pressure; inserting a venting apparatus into the bore; and discharging the pressurized nitrogen gas into the bore. In another aspect, a different method of treating a water well is disclosed. The method comprises providing a tank of pressurized nitrogen gas; inserting a venting apparatus into the bore; discharging the pressurized nitrogen gas into the bore; depleting the pressure of the nitrogen gas in the tank to produce low-pressure nitrogen; re-pressurizing the low-pressure nitrogen to a desired pressure; and discharging the re-pressurized nitrogen gas into the bore.

摘要: The present invention is directed to an intensified process cycle that utilizes the adsorption beds present to a substantially greater degree allowing the processing of significantly more gas and/or the generation of significantly more product. The elimination of purge steps, reduction in equalization step times, and introduction of overlapping feed and equalization steps which normally cause a degradation in performance for equilibrium-based cycles, frees extra step for other actions to be taken, such as additional equalization steps, etc.

摘要: Generally, a cyclic sorptive gas separation process can comprise a feed or sorbing step followed by a regenerating step. In embodiments, the sorbing step can involve admitting said feed stream into a contactor, sorbing at least a portion of a first component onto a sorbent, producing a first product stream, and recovering a first product stream. In embodiments, the regenerating step can comprise admitting or feeding the first regeneration stream into the contactor, sorbing a fraction of a third component onto the contactor, desorbing a fraction of the first component, and recovering a second product stream from the contactor, wherein the regeneration step further comprises controlling a partial pressure of the third component to a partial pressure threshold equal to or greater than 0.4 Bara.
