摘要: A system and method for predictive analysis of Seawater Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) desalination plants receives first data associated with a SWRO plant, including a first set of parameters associated with seawater, a second set of parameters associated with a permeate, and a third set of parameters associated with a brine. The system determines a fourth set of parameters by applying normalization techniques to the received first data. The system determines, based upon the fourth set of parameters, a set of membrane performance parameters associated with the SWRO plant, or a set of diagnostic indicators associated with at least one of the SWRO plant and the seawater. The system outputs the determined set of membrane performance parameters or the set of diagnostic indicators.

摘要: The present application relates to a method and a motor for performing work using osmosis. The method comprises the steps of providing a motor comprising a supply chamber, a pressure chamber comprising at least one inlet and at least one outlet, and a membrane permeable to fluid and at least partially impermeable to salt ions and enabling fluid communication between the supply chamber and the pressure chamber; then providing low salt concentration fluid in the supply chamber, closing the outlet of the pressure chamber; flowing high salt concentration fluid into the pressure chamber; allowing the pressure within the pressure chamber to increase as fluid crosses the membrane into the pressure chamber and using the increased pressure within the pressure chamber to perform work; then opening the outlet of the pressure chamber and allowing the fluid to drain from the pressure chamber and the pressure in the pressure chamber to decrease.

摘要: Methods and systems for treating brackish desalination brine for the recovery of fresh water are disclosed. The method includes treating a source of brackish desalination brine with an ultraviolet-driven persulfate photolysis oxidation pre-treatment; treating the source of brackish desalination brine treated with the ultraviolet-driven persulfate photolysis oxidation pre-treatment to a chemical demineralization process; treating the source of brackish desalination brine treated with the ultraviolet-driven persulfate photolysis oxidation pre-treatment and with the chemical demineralization process to a microfiltration process; and treating the source of brackish desalination brine treated to the ultraviolet-driven persulfate photolysis oxidation pre-treatment, the chemical demineralization process, and the microfiltration process to a reverse osmosis treatment.

摘要: An apparatus and a method use permeate to flush a reverse osmosis filter membrane in the same flow direction as when fluid is being filtered through the membrane. The apparatus includes a housing having a membrane positioned therein. The membrane has an interior surface and an exterior surface. The housing has an inlet port located outward of the exterior surface of the membrane and first and second outlet ports. The first outlet port is located outward of the exterior surface of the membrane and the second outlet port is located inward of the interior surface of the membrane. A first pump is used to route pressurized, untreated fluid from a fluid source through the membrane to produce permeate. A second pump is used to route permeate to a desired function while also routing some permeate at low pressure to the housing to flush the membrane.

The osmosis device is designed to separate, in a charging operation, a liquid mixture with a charging pressure into a permeate and a concentrate, or, in a discharging operation, to mix the permeate with the concentrate while applying an osmotic pressure to the liquid mixture. The permeate store is fluidically connected to the osmosis device and is designed to store the permeate. The concentrate store is fluidically connected to the osmosis device and is designed to store the concentrate. The control device is designed to control the following functions: the charging operation using electrical power from the at least one power generating system, or the discharging operation while providing electrical power.

摘要: A method for refilling an aquifer includes establishing an air extraction well into the aquifer. The aquifer includes a water table of groundwater. A vacuum pump is coupled in flow communication to the air extraction well. The vacuum pump is then activated to remove air from the aquifer, thereby reducing a subsurface air pressure and facilitating refilling the aquifer with groundwater.

摘要: A method and system for the offshore production of fuel includes an offshore marine platform on which is mounted an ammonia production unit. The ammonia production unit may produce ammonia utilizing raw materials sourced adjacent the marine platform, including seawater and electricity from offshore wind turbines. The produced ammonia may be subsequently liquified and transported away from the marine platform, or conveyed to a remote location via a seabed pipeline. A portion of the hydrogen produced as part of the ammonia production process may be utilized to operate onboard combustion turbines that can in turn drive electric generators onboard the marine platform to produce electricity.
