摘要: In order to improve the lifespan of the semi-permeable membrane or the yield of the reverse osmosis system in the treatment of drinking water by means of reverse osmosis, the invention provides a device for treating drinking water with at least one reverse osmosis vessel which is divided into at least two chambers by at least one semi-permeable membrane, wherein a first chamber has an inlet for the water to be treated and an outlet for the concentrate, and the second chamber has an outlet for the treated water, wherein the device comprises at least one pressure vessel which is connected to the outlet for the treated water via a line, wherein the device is designed in such a way that, in an idle state, treated water flows out of the pressure vessel, through the semi-permeable membrane and into the first chamber.

摘要: A membrane filtration system, in particular for reverse osmosis, includes a plurality of stages. Each stage has at least one pump and one filter membrane. The stages are hydraulically interconnected in sequence by connecting lines. The system also includes a bypass line for each stage for diverting liquid flow around the stage. At least one bypass valve blocks the respective bypass line in the closed state. The system further includes a control and regulating unit that can actuate the respective bypass valve.

In such a system the energy consumption should be optimized. To this end the hydraulic motor (18) is operatively connected to a first electric machine (21).

摘要: Systems and processes for purifying and concentrating a liquid feed stream are disclosed. In the systems, the concentrated liquid output from the high pressure side of a reverse osmosis stage is used as the draw solution in the low pressure side of the reverse osmosis stage in a configuration called osmotically assisted reverse osmosis. This reduces the osmotic pressure differential across the membrane, permitting high solute concentrations to be obtained, hastening the purification of the liquid. Reduced system pressures are also obtained by arranging multiple osmotically assisted reverse osmosis stages in a cross-current arrangement. Overall system energy consumption is reduced compared to conventional thermal processes for high concentration streams.

摘要: Membranes and filtration modules for producing a concentrated feed stream and a diluted feed stream during operation in a water purification or wastewater treatment system. Filtration modules are provided that include a semipermeable membrane having a first side and a second side, the first side configured to receive a first feed solution stream from a first feed solution source and the second side configured to receive a second feed solution stream from a second feed solution source. The semipermeable membrane may be configured to operate at a hydrostatic pressure on the second side of the membrane from about 1% to about 40% of the hydrostatic pressure on the first side of the membrane, and may in some cases exhibit a salt rejection of from about 60 percent to about 90 percent during operation.

The unit includes a containment defined by a wall section, first and second end sections, wherein the wall section is attached to the first end section and the second end section; a water inlet arranged in the first or second end section through which the water is fed into the containment; a filter membrane arranged in the containment such that at least part of the water is fed through the filter membrane; and a first water outlet for filtered water from the membrane. The unit further includes an injector pump arranged to create an increased flow velocity trough the injector pump of the water fed to the filter membrane, and the injector pump is furthermore arranged to receive unfiltered water not fed through the membrane and recirculate the unfiltered water within the containment.

The at least one channeling structure including a membrane element extending lengthwise forming a semi-permeable interface between the permeate channel and a feed-flow-region in fluid communication with the inner cylindrical feed chamber. The apparatus including a pump to pressurize the inner cylindrical feed chamber, and a motor to rotate the cylindrical drum for generating centrifugal force.

A medial waterline transports pretreated water to the reverse osmosis cartridge. An unfiltered waterline includes a flow restrictor. A blend waterline transports a blended water mixture to the outlet. The blended waterline receives filtered water at a first flowrate from the medial waterline and unfiltered water at a second flowrate downstream of the flow restrictor. The flow restrictor provides the second flowrate at a substantially equal rate to the first flowrate.
