摘要: A method of treating dairy wastewater includes receiving a dairy wastewater stream at a first pH from a dairy processing facility at an equalization tank, receiving the dairy wastewater stream from the equalization tank at a pump, and, based on at least one of the first pH or a second pH of the dairy wastewater stream upon exiting the equalization tank, receiving an acid to the dairy wastewater stream prior to the pump. A pump outlet stream includes a mixture of the dairy wastewater stream and the acid at a third pH that is lower than the first pH. The method also includes receiving the pump outlet stream at a pipe reactor in fluidic communication with the pump, then receiving the pipe reactor outlet stream at a dissolved air flotation (DAF) unit, and then outputting a liquid stream at a final pH from the DAF unit.

摘要: Devices, systems and methods for removing minerals from a conductive protonic fluid and creating oxidizers therein. A non-alternating flow of electrons in a conductive protonic fluid selectively precipitates hardness causing heavy minerals from the fluid. The decrease in hardness causing minerals leads to the protonic fluid moving towards a thermodynamic equilibrium that prevents precipitation of the noted hardness causing minerals. By-products from the process, like halogens, help oxidize other minerals and treat bio-life within the source. Systems include a vessel containing the conductive protonic fluid, a conductive protonic fluid flow mechanism, a power supply, a control mechanism, and one or more reaction chambers. The reaction chamber has at least one reaction chamber wall having a conductive surface and a conductive element. The power supply provides an electric field to the conductive protonic fluid in the reaction chamber such that the conductive surface and the conductive element have opposing charges which separate the conductive protonic fluid into negative and positive ions creating an ion gradient between the conductive element and conductive surface, resulting in a pH gradient between the conductive surface and the conductive element, thereby enhancing precipitation of the minerals on a positive end of the ion gradient.

摘要: Method and apparatus pertaining to the production of hydrogen sulfide using sodium salts recycle. Sodium sulfate is reacted with a carbon containing stream to produce sodium sulfide and carbon dioxide. The sodium sulfide is blended with elemental sulfur and water. The blend is subjected to elevated temperatures and pressures to result in the production of hydrogen sulfide and sodium sulfate. A mixing apparatus, such as a bubble column reactor, has been found to be especially useful. The hydrogen sulfide can be used for removing metal from effluents.

摘要: Lithium-ion batteries are recycled by a series of physical and chemical processes. Used batteries are comminuted, and then the shredded material stream is further processed to create black mass for further refinement into constituent materials that are used in the production of new batteries. Black mass is produced from a liquid stream and a solid stream. The method is adaptable to different types and sizes of lithium-ion batteries and is designed to minimize waste and optimize material recovery.

摘要: According to embodiments of the present disclosure, there is provided a process of removing aluminum waste from wastewater. The process includes (a) supplying, as a feed, wastewater containing aluminum; (b) separating the wastewater into a liquid component and a sludge component containing the aluminum; (c) reacting the sludge component with sulfuric acid to produce aluminum sulfate; (d) mixing the aluminum sulfate with alcohol to produce aluminum sulfate hydrate; and (e) adding the aluminum sulfate hydrate produced in step (d) to the wastewater of step (a) and/or to another wastewater. The process can cost-effectively remove waste from wastewater and reduce the content of waste contained in the effluent from being discharged.
