摘要: A cable jacket removal device is used to selectively remove a sheath from a length of a sheathed cable. The cable jacket removal device includes a support frame, a drive shaft, and a motor. The support frame removably couples the removal device to the cable to be stripped. The drive shaft is coupled to the support frame. The motor is coupled to the drive shaft to selectively rotate the drive shaft to cause the removal device to travel along the cable to automatically remove a cable jacket from a predefined distance of the cable.

摘要: A method for attaching a prefabricated miniature coaxial wire to a first electrical connection point, the prefabricated miniature coaxial wire having an electrically conductive core disposed within an electrical insulation layer disposed within an electrically conductive shield layer, includes attaching an exposed portion of the electrically conductive core at a distal end of the prefabricated miniature coaxial wire to the first electrical connection point, thereby establishing electrical conductivity between the electrically conductive core and the first electrical connection point, depositing a layer of electrically insulating material onto the exposed portion of the electrically conductive core such that the exposed portion of the electrically conductive core and the first electrical connection point is encased in the layer of electrically insulating material, and connecting the electrically conductive shield layer to a second electrical connection point using a connector formed from an electrically conductive material.

摘要: Coring augers, tools, methods, and connectors for preparing an end of a coaxial cable for introduction of a flowable medium into the end are disclosed. The disclosed methods and tools may form a frustoconical dielectric portion at an end of the coaxial cable. An annular space formed between the outer conductor and the frustoconical dielectric portion may facilitate the introduction of the flowable medium into the annular space. The disclosed methods and tools may also flare an outer conductor at the end of the coaxial cable and engage the flared outer conductor in a corresponding flared connector.

摘要: Machines and methods for removing screens from cable, wherein screen surrounds at least one electrical or optical conductor (22). The screen may be a braided screen (21) from a cable (19) including at least one conductor (22), screen (21), and outer insulation (20). After baring screen (21) by removing outer insulation (20), a section is deformed and/or unbraided, and then the deformed section of the screen (21) is cut off. The step of deforming and/or unbraiding is accomplished by lifting-off the screen (21) from the inner conductor (22) on at least one end of the section of the screen (21) to be removed, at least over a part of the circumference of the cable. This step additionally includes or may be followed by pressing the parts of the screen (21), that have been lifted off onto an erection surface (28) before cutting them off, whereby preferably the parts of the screen (21) that have been lifted off are bent backwards in the direction of the yet undeformed screen (21).
