    摘要: A method and system for wirelessly tracking power tools and related devices to aid with inventory management and to help minimize, prevent, and recover misplaced or stolen tools throughout the job site. The tools and/or batteries include wireless transmitting capabilities (e.g., an ISM unit) to transmit data to a fob, puck repeater, and/or gateway over an ISM network. The gateway is operable to translate and output the ISM communications over a cellular network to a remote monitoring unit, such as a personal computer or smart phone. Additionally, the gateway is further operable to translate and output cellular communications from the remote monitoring unit to ISM communications over the ISM network. A wireless tethering system and method is also disclosed whereby an ISM battery places a power tool in a lock-out or limp mode after the ISM battery remains outside of ISM communications for a prolonged period of time.

The component within the power tool is, for example, a hammer of an impact mechanism and can include one or more sensible features that allow a controller of the power tool to precisely determine the position, speed, and acceleration of the component. One or more sensors can be used to determine the rotational position of the hammer and the axial position of the hammer. The rotational position of the hammer can then be used to calculate, for example, rotational speed and acceleration of the hammer. With precise determinations of the rotational and axial position of the hammer, the controller of the power tool is able to precisely time the impact between the hammer and the anvil to optimize the impact between the hammer and the anvil (e.g., to maximize energy transfer between the hammer and the anvil).

    摘要: A shearing tool for shearing a strut channel includes a housing, a drive casing coupled to the housing, an output movable along a longitudinal axis relative to the drive casing between an extended position and a retracted position, and a die. The die includes a front face, a rear face opposite the front face, and a cutout extending through the front and rear faces, the cutout configured to receive the strut channel therethrough. A die retaining mechanism is movable between a locked configuration, in which the die retaining mechanism couples the die to the output for movement therewith between the extended position and the retracted position, and an unlocked configuration, in which the die is removable from the drive casing. The die retaining mechanism is movable from the locked configuration to the unlocked configuration without the use of tools.
