摘要： A cutting device to sever a cable or the like. The cutting device can be used to sever the cable or the like in relatively inaccessible locations, such as in the ocean. The cutting device can include one or more springs that can be loaded to facilitate the deployment of a cutting tool to sever the cable or the like. The cutting device can include a lever than can be rotated between a locked configuration impeding deployment of the cutting tool and an unlocked configuration permitting deployment of the cutting tool. A linkage can retain the lever in the locked configuration. The linkage can be compromised, permitting the movement of the lever into the unlocked configuration.

摘要： A power tool accessory for cutting tubular members includes a housing, an input shaft configured to be coupled to a rotary power tool, a transmission, and a cutting head removably received in a front end of the housing. The transmission includes an input gear and an output gear with a first plurality of teeth. The cutting head has a central opening, a cutting blade protruding into the central opening, and a second plurality of teeth engaged by the first plurality of teeth. A clamp assembly coupled to the housing is moveable between a first position where the cutting head is removable from the housing and a second position where the cutting head is retained in the housing. The cutting head receives a tubular member in the central opening with the cutting blade engaging the tubular member to cut the tubular member as the cutting head rotates about the tubular member.

A cutting force acting upon the blade parts causes a counterforce. A line of action of the cutting force extends differently from a line of action of the counterforce. Each application surface has an end facing the cutting plane and an end facing away from the cutting plane. The ends are located on the same side of the cutting plane. In order to reduce a cutting gap between blade edges, the end facing the cutting plane defines a first distance and that the first distance and/or a second distance are chosen such that an intersecting point lies in front of a line of action of the cutting force referred to a clockwise direction.
