Abstract:
A dual action hydraulic piston assembly including a cylinder having first and second inlet ports on a first end and an outlet port on a second end, a conduit connected to the first inlet port and extending into the cylinder, an inner ram slidable along an outer surface of the conduit, and an outer ram slidable between the inner ram and the cylinder. The inner and outer rams are configured to move together toward the second end of the cylinder in response to a fluid being displaced via the first inlet port into the conduit, which displaces a second fluid through the outlet port at a first flow rate. The outer ram is configured to move toward the second end of the cylinder in response to a fluid being displaced via the second inlet port, which displaces the second fluid through the outlet port at a second flow rate.
Abstract:
A variable rake shear comprises a housing (8), a first blade (1) mounted in a first blade mounting (4), a second blade (2) mounted in a second blade mounting (3); and a control device (5) to control movement of one blade mounting to shear the material. Each blade mounting is movable in at least one dimension relative to the housing. One blade is an active blade (1) and the other blade is a passive blade (2). A rake adjustment mechanism (6a, 6b) for at least one of the mountings (3, 4) and the mounting (4) for the active blade (1) has a torque tube linkage mechanism (10, 11, 12).
Abstract:
Hydraulic two-side rolling-cut shears, including: a front transport roller device, a rear transport roller device, a shear body, and a roller carrier. The front transport roller device includes a laser scriber, a magnetic alignment device, and a pinch roller device. The rear transport roller device includes a vertical guide roller. The laser scriber is disposed on the front end of the front transport roller device. The magnetic alignment device is disposed in the middle part of the front transport roller device. The pinch roller device is disposed on the rear end of the front transport roller device in front of the shear body. The roller carrier is disposed longitudinally in the middle of the shear body. The vertical guide roller is disposed on the rear transport roller device and behind the shear body.
Abstract:
A hydrodynamic compression tool comprises an electrical motor, which can be powered by a control circuit, a hydraulic pump which can be actuated by the motor so as to increase the pressure of a hydraulic liquid acting on an actuating piston, two jaws, which can be mutually moved by the actuating piston between an open position and a closed position for carrying out the compression or the cut, an actuating button, which acts on a switch of the control circuit to actuate the motor, a return device which returns the jaws to the open position by a return of the hydraulic fluid from the actuating piston towards the hydraulic pump through a return valve, and a mechanism for delaying the opening of the return valve via the return device, so as to allow verification of the position of the jaws before the return of the jaws to the open position.
Abstract:
A notching apparatus includes a stationary die, a notching die, a rod connected to the notching die, a double acting air cylinder connected to the rod for reciprocating the rod and notching die. The double acting air cylinder uses air pressure to both extend and retract the rod. A notching table includes at least one notching apparatus.
Abstract:
A trim tool for trimming a part having a complex shape. The trim tool defines a plurality of electro-hydraulic cavities that are separated by walls in a lower die of the trim tool. Electrodes are discharged in the electro-hydraulic cavities to drive the panel into engagement with a trim steel edge. The discharge of the electrode severs the panel above the cavity and also across a portion of a wall separating adjacent cavities. Discharging an electrode in an adjacent cavity completes the trim operation above the wall.

Abstract:
A toolholder has a head portion including a slot separating the head portion into a lower extension with a lower seat and an upper extension with an upper seat to retain a cutting insert. The head portion contains a coolant entrance passage, which receives coolant from a coolant source, and a coolant delivery passage, which discharges coolant toward a cutting insert. The cutting insert includes a top surface with an upwardly extending protuberance that can be engaged by the toolholder to rigidly mount the cutting insert in the head portion of the toolholder. The cutting insert further includes a coolant channel formed in the top surface of the cutting insert that is positioned directly opposite of the coolant discharge to enhance the flow rate of the coolant delivered to the cutting insert-workpiece interface.
Abstract:
A rod manipulator including power-base and various assemblies, interchangeably attaching to the base. The power-base is composed of a pneumatic cylinder and piston which affects the function of various assemblies. The piston moves the central component of an assembly toward the fixed portion of that assembly. A bending assembly containing mobile pivots around which a surgical metal rod can be bent. A cutting assembly containing blades in central and fixed portions between which a surgical metal rod can be cut. The distal end of the cut rod is retained by replaceable, sterilizable, eject-grips during and immediately after the cutting operation. The general object of the invention is to provide an improved surgical rod cutter and surgical rod bender, capable of performing both tasks with one power source, requires one-person operation, eliminates the need for significant muscular forces and eliminates the opportunity for an unsafe projectile in the operating room.
Abstract:
A hydraulically powered cutting tool includes a blade holder for securing a piece of cutting material during the shearing process. The assembly includes a tool head having a receiving area for the blade holder. A powered actuator is attached to the tool head adjacent the receiving area for actuating a moving blade. The moving blade includes a first end attached to the powered actuator and a second end with a cutting surface facing a fixed blade. The blade holder is attached to the tool head and includes an arcuate bottom surface adjacent the receiving area at a first end and a sleeve at a second end. The fixed cutting blade is received in the sleeve and includes a cutting surface disposed facing the moving blade.
