摘要: A method for making an RF connector having an outer conductor and an inner conductor includes the steps of plating the outer conductor and the inner conductor of the RF connector with at least one corrosion-resistant metallic material; dispensing and/or injecting a material comprising an epoxy phenol novolac based resin. in a volume between the outer conductor and the inner conductor of the connector; heating the RF connector with the injected material to a temperature between about 150° C. to about 380° C. in a substantially dry nitrogen-based environment; and allowing the RF connector to cool.

摘要: A coaxial cable connector assembly includes a coupler defining an inner channel extending through the coupler and an outer conductor engagement feature extending inwardly from the inner channel, a rear body, positioned rearward of the coupler, defining a cable channel extending through the rear body, and structurally configured to receive the coaxial cable, and an adhesive reservoir positioned at least partially within the cable channel of the rear body, the adhesive reservoir including an adhesive and an adhesive reservoir breakable material that encapsulates the adhesive, where the adhesive reservoir breakable material is structurally configured to fracture upon the application of force exceeding a predetermined threshold, thereby releasing the adhesive from the adhesive reservoir to adhesively couple the coaxial cable to the rear body.

摘要: Connectors and methods for attaching connectors to one or more cables and/or conduits are disclosed. In one example, a coaxial cable connector for connecting a coaxial cable comprising an inner conductor, an insulator layer surrounding the inner conductor, an outer conductor layer surrounding the insulator layer and an outer jacket is provided. The coaxial cable connector includes a front body comprising an opening for receiving at least a portion of a coaxial cable. The front body includes a plurality of rearward facing projections. A back nut sub-assembly includes a back nut and a retainer coupled to the back nut. The back nut is adapted to couple to the front body and the retainer is adapted to receive a least a portion of the coaxial cable. The retainer includes a plurality of forward facing protrusions adapted to engage the plurality of rearward facing protrusions when the back nut is coupled to the front body.

摘要: A coaxial cable connector comprising an assembled coupler, body, and post is provided. The back end of the post and the back end of the body are adapted to receive an end of a coaxial cable. The coupler further comprises a central passage, a lip with a forward facing surface and a rearward facing surface, and a bore forward of the lip, and is adapted to couple the connector to a coaxial cable terminal. The post further comprises a collar portion and an enlarged shoulder disposed forward of the lip of the coupler within the bore of the coupler. The enlarged shoulder of the post is disposed forward of the collar portion of the post. A contacting portion of the post comprises an extension of the collar portion of the post and at least a portion of the enlarged shoulder of the post comprises a proximity feature.

摘要: A stripping tool includes and body portion and a clamping arm. The stripping tool further includes a stripping blade having a blade edge. The stripping blade extends from the body portion, and the blade edge is offset from the clamping arm at a distance d such that the blade edge enters the insulator layer of the coaxial cable when the coaxial cable is positioned between the clamping arm and the body portion. The stripping tool further includes a retention element disposed at the body portion at a position after the stripping blade along a cable insertion direction. The retention element is positioned to contact the outer layer of an end portion of the coaxial cable when the coaxial cable is positioned between the clamping arm and the body portion and the stripping tool is in the closed position.

摘要: Connectors including apertures for grounding outer conductors of conduits and connectors including grounding grooves for grounding outer conductors of conduits are disclosed. In some embodiments, a connector includes a bore, a gripping portion axially surrounding the bore, a generally cylindrical aperture for receiving a grounding wire, and a securing port for securing the grounding wire in the aperture. An exterior gripping surface of the gripping portion is symmetric. The generally cylindrical aperture extends along an aperture centerline through at least a portion of the gripping portion. The securing port extends along a securing port centerline and intersects the generally cylindrical aperture. In other embodiments, a connector includes a grounding groove extending at least partially around an outer diameter of the connector that is adapted to receive the grounding wire, and a securing port longitudinally offset from the grounding groove and extending along a securing port centerline.
