    摘要: A wire stripping and cutting tool. The tool includes a pair of arms each including a head end with pliers and a handle end pivotally affixed to one another via a fastener. Each arm of the pair of arms includes a cutting portion disposed on the head portion, and a pair of screw cutting apertures disposed between the cutting portion and the handle portion. A first group of wire stripping notches disposed on the head portion include a first diameter, and a second group of wire stripping notches disposed on the head portion has a second diameter greater than the first diameter. In one embodiment, the first and second group of notches are configured to strip 12.2 and 14.2 gauge wires, respectively. A spring is disposed between each arm, wherein the spring is configured to bias each head portion of each arm in a direction opposing each other.

    摘要: The invention relates to a cable stripping tool (1). A cable stripping unit (5) is built with two cable stripping jaws (6, 7). The cable stripping jaws (6, 7) are pivoted towards each other in a pivot plane (9) during a cutting stroke. During a subsequent cable stripping stroke the cutting jaws (6, 7) are moved along a cable stripping axis (15). A mounting axis (58, 59) has an orientation vertical to the pivot plane (9). A cutting element (10, 11) is detachably mounted along the mounting axis (58, 59) with the cable stripping jaw (6, 7). Outside from an exchange position the cutting element (10, 11) is blocked against the removal along the mounting axis (58, 59). The exchange position is induced by the drive (16) of the cable stripping tool (1). In the exchange position the cutting element (10, 11) is freed with respect to a movement along the mounting axis (58, 59) so that demounting of the cutting element (10, 11) and mounting of a new cutting element (10, 11) is possible.

A cutting element (10, 11) is exchangeably assembled with the stripping jaw under use of a mounting groove (56, 57). Preferably, mounting and dismounting is performed along mounting axes (58, 59) having an orientation perpendicular to a pivot plane of the pliers jaws (3, 4). The inventive stripping tool (1) comprises an exchange position in which the mounting and dismounting of the cutting elements (10, 11) is possible, in particular through a cutaway (62, 63) of a side wall (64, 65) of the pliers jaws (3, 4). If the exchange position is left a movement of the cutting element (10, 11) is blocked by a securing element (66) formed by the side wall (64, 65) so that a securing of the position of the cutting element (10, 11) is provided. In the exchange position it is easy to disassemble the cutting element (10, 11) and to assemble a new cutting element wherein no additional measures (as the release of a screwed connection, a dismounting of the stripping unit and the like) are required for disassembly.

    摘要: This invention relates to a tool for stripping a surrounding layer from a sheathed cable. A tool for stripping a surrounding layer from an elongate electrical cable of substantially circular cross-sectional shape comprises a tool body having opposed jaws; a cable-receiving channel defined by formations in each of the jaws, the channel being configured to accommodate the end portion of a cable to be stripped with the formations fitting closely against the surrounding layer of the cable; and a cutting blade mounted in one of the jaws and having a cutting end positioned in the channel to penetrate the layer to a pre-set depth. The cutting end of the cutting blade has a cutting edge defined by facets of the blade disposed at an angle to the axis of the channel thereby to sever a helical strip of the surrounding layer from the end portion of a cable received in the channel on rotation of the tool around the cable. The jaws are resiliently separable and move away from each other from an initial position to allow the cable-receiving channel to accommodate therein the end portion of a cable of a diameter greater than the size of the channel when the jaws are in the initial position, to ensure the formations fit closely against the surrounding layer to ensure the pre-set depth of cut is delivered into the layer.

    摘要: A blade for cutting and stripping insulation from insulated electrical conductors has two blade angles leading to the cutting edge. The first angle is a gathering angle which opens onto the leading surface of the blade and provides a wide opening for gathering offset insulated conductors. The gathering angle converges toward the interior of the blade and intersects the second blade angle, which also converges toward the blade interior. The second blade angle, the cutting angle, terminates in a radius cutting edge adapted to slice the insulation. The blade walls defining the cutting angle are tangent to the cutting edge radius. The cutting angle is minimized so that the radius cutting edge provides a maximum circumferential contact with the conductor. The blade may include a stop for positively controlling the cutting stroke to avoid nicking the conductor.
