摘要: A management system for a Permitting Authorities (PA) or their appointed designee to monitor and track application-based commercial ground transportation (ABCT) providers activities within electronically-enabled geo-fenced areas associated with the PAs, all without the need for specialized hardware such as transponders or other tracking equipment. ABCT Providers transmit location and/or transaction information for ABCT Vehicles within geo-fenced areas associated with the PAs to a clearinghouse. The clearinghouse parses the location and/or transaction information to identify the corresponding PA. The clearinghouse transmits the received information to the corresponding PAs in near real-time and periodically creates invoices for each PA based on the activities taken place within the respective goes-fenced areas.

摘要: Determining occupancy of a vehicle during a trip can be carried out using a computer server which receives data from mobile computing devices within the vehicle. Each of the mobile computing devices is associated with a person, and sends to the server a unique identification of the vehicle, such as a license plate number, and also data generated during the trip from sensors within the device. The sensors collect data that relates to the local ambient environment of the device during the trip, such as a local magnetic field, movements, altitude, location, and sounds. The server compares the data from all devices in the vehicle to determine if the data from all of devices match, within predetermined limits. If there is a match, the server can provide a probable vehicle occupancy count; otherwise, the server can provide an indication that the vehicle occupancy should be investigated in another manner.

摘要: An approach for determining a route is provided. A rule is retrieved, which indicates a number of recommended routes passing through a constrained area is not permitted to exceed a threshold. After a receipt of N requests from N respective users for N routes, N recommended routes passing through the constrained area are determined and presented to the N users. After determining the N recommended routes and based on a receipt of a request from an (N+1)-th user for an (N+1)-th route, the (N+1)-th route, which passes through the constrained area, is determined. Based on the retrieved rule and the (N+1)-th route passing through the constrained area, N+1 is determined to not exceed the second number. Responsive to determining N+1 does not exceed the threshold, the (N+1)-th route is designated as an (N+1)-th recommended route.

摘要: A system determines traffic information. The system contains a terminal having a position determination device for determining a position of the vehicle, a storage device for storing reference positions defined by location coordinates, and a processor which works together with the position determining device and the storage device. The processor compares a specific position of the vehicle with stored reference positions to determine whether the vehicle has passed a reference position. A reference position is defined by a safety line extending through the location coordinates thereof. The processor also determines whether the vehicle has traversed a safety line and evaluates the traversing of a determined safety line as the vehicle passes the reference position defined by the safety line. Therefore, the system can determine a position in a simple and reliable manner, including in an inner-city road network.

In an embodiment, the tag has a user input and a visual and audible tag status indicator. The user input is used to change the occupancy status of the tag, wherein the occupancy status is a portion of a message sent by radio frequency to the interrogator when the vehicle passes through a toll area.
