Abstract: Methods and systems related to determining the ordering and/or positioning of travel lanes on a road segment are disclosed. In some embodiments, this may include obtaining and clustering road surface profiles associated with a road segment using, for example, a degree of similarity or other appropriate metric. A lateral offset or position of the clustered profiles may be used in determining the lane ordering and/or position. The resulting lane specific information may be used to determine a travel lane for a vehicle by comparing a current road-profile obtained from the vehicle and the road profile information associated with the different lanes. In other embodiments, a method and/or system for augmenting a global navigation satellite system (GNSS) signal may include using a raw GNSS signal and a GNSS location associated with terrain-based data to determine a lateral offset for use in determining a corrected GNSS location of the vehicle.

Abstract: A non-transitory computer-readable media comprising computer-readable instructions stored thereon that, when executed by a processor, causes the processor to generate a route, control a drone to surveil an area along the route, generate, from a sensor on the drone, status data for one or more refuse containers, analyze the status data to determine a status of refuse within the area, provide a notification to a customer based on the status of refuse, repeat surveillance to determine if the status of refuse has changed, generate a revised route in response to determining that the status of refuse has changed, and update a customer bill in response to determining that the status of refuse has changed.

Abstract: A method for geolocating a terminal of a wireless communication system from measurements of a parameter representative of a radio signal exchanged between the terminal and base stations of the communication system. The method uses fixed base stations and a mobile base station which is displaced in a determined search area. During a predefined search period, the terminal emits several radio signals to the fixed base stations and the mobile base station. A precise geographical position can then be determined, on the one hand, from the measurements carried out during the search period for the different base stations, and on the other hand, from the geographical positions of the fixed base stations and from the geographical positions of the mobile base station at the different times of emission of the radio signals by the terminal.

Abstract: A base station receives, from a wireless device, a first registration request message comprising a first zone identity of the wireless device, wherein the first zone identity is based on a first geographical location of the wireless device and a registration area update type indicating a geographical zone-based tracking type. The base station sends, to an access and mobility management function (AMF), the first registration request message. The base station receives, from the AMF, a first paging message for the wireless device based on the geographical zone-based tracking type. The base station sends a second paging message for the wireless device based on the first paging message.

Abstract: The described features generally relate to receiving one or more positioning signals at a satellite terminal during installation of the satellite terminal at a customer premises, and providing position-based access to a satellite communications system based on a satellite terminal installation position determined from the received positioning signals. The determined installation position of the satellite terminal may then be employed for various network access techniques, such as providing access to the satellite communications system, providing position-based content, or restricting content via the satellite communications system based on the determined installation position. In some examples the determined installation position of the satellite terminal may be used to approximate a propagation delay between the satellite terminal and various devices of the satellite communications system, such as a serving satellite and/or a serving gateway, to improve device synchronization and radio frequency spectrum resource utilization.
