Abstract: A method and apparatus for level of service assessment at signalized intersections is disclosed. In an exemplary embodiment, a method for estimating an average delay per vehicle at a signalized intersection with a traffic signal, including sampling vehicle arrival rates at the signalized intersection, sampling vehicle departure rates at the signalized intersection, analyzing generated shock waves at the traffic signal, wherein the traffic signal shock wave is a change in vehicle density due to changes in the traffic signal, and estimating the average delay per vehicle based on the vehicle arrival rates, the vehicle departure rates, and the traffic shock waves at the signalized intersection.

Abstract: Systems and methods for fast vehicular micro cloud formation are disclosed herein. In one example, a system includes a processor and a memory in communication with the processor and having instructions. When executed by the processor, the instructions cause the processor to receive an identifier of the vehicle and determine if the identifier matches the information in stored metadata. If the identifier matches the information in the stored metadata, the vehicle is allowed to join the vehicular micro cloud without performing a standard onboarding procedure. Otherwise, a standard onboarding procedure is performed to allow the vehicle to join the vehicular micro cloud.

Abstract: A system for collecting vehicle crash data at a vehicle crash site of a vehicle crash is provided. The system may include an emergency response unit that includes an emergency response vehicle and an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that is automatically deployed from the emergency response vehicle at the vehicle crash site. The UAV may be an autonomous or semi-autonomous drone, and include a processor, memory, and sensor, wherein the sensor collects vehicle crash data (such as image, video, or audio) at the crash site. The system may include a remote computing device and an insurance computing device to process the vehicle crash data collected by the UAV and/or initiate a crash insurance claim. The vehicle crash data may be used for one or more insurance-related purposes or activities, such as handling, adjusting, or generating auto or homeowners insurance claims; crash reconstruction; fault determination; damaged vehicle repair; and/or buildup identification.

Abstract: The disclosure includes embodiments for automatically generating a virtual pedestrian for inclusion in a digital simulation. Some embodiments of a method may include automatically generating a virtual pedestrian based on a path specification and a behavior specification. The method may include executing a digital simulation that includes the virtual pedestrian crossing an intersection and a virtual vehicle responding to the virtual pedestrian crossing the intersection, wherein the digital simulation is operable to measure a performance of a virtual Advanced Driver Assistance System (virtualized “ADAS system”) included in the virtual vehicle to protect the virtual pedestrian when responding to the virtual pedestrian crossing the intersection. The method may include displaying a set of visualizations on a display, wherein the set of visualizations on the display visually describe the performance of the virtual ADAS system to protect the virtual pedestrian when responding to the virtual pedestrian crossing the intersection.
