摘要: The present invention provides a system and accompanying method for deriving spatial sequence of multiple objects on an interactive surface. The system includes an interactive surface and multiple physical objects. Each object is placed within a finite three-dimensional space on the interactive surface, and embedded with an RFID tag. The interactive surface further includes an RF module, an antenna, a host, an adjustable matching network, a channel switch, and an output module. The host instructs the channel switch to change the parameters of the components of the adjustable matching network to generate a series of resonance frequencies. And the host instructs the antenna to read the RFID tags at the series of resonance frequencies, with an effective reading range of the antenna changing as the resonance frequency changes. The host receives information of multiple sets of RFID tags in multiple readings, derives a spatial sequence of the objects placed on the interactive surface, and provides the output signal or action through the output module. The invention could be applied to the Tower of Hanoi game.

摘要: A radio frequency identification (RFID) network and methods for tracking subjects in a closed environment includes distributing RFID readers across the environment. Readers have unique reader identifiers and communicate with a computer system. These identifiers and reader locations are stored. The location of subjects bearing passive RFID tags is acquired by reading the unique subject identifiers off the tags and associating these RFID tags with the reader identifiers of the readers making the readings. A subject data store includes the location data of the subjects obtained by the RFID readers and electronic addresses of the subjects. An instruction set data store comprising sets, each set corresponding to one of a plurality of events, is also maintained. In accordance with the instruction set data store, in response to an event, different event messages are sent to different subjects based upon their location in the closed environment and/or their class label.

摘要: To promote ease of use, as well as a reduction in bit error rates during extended data exchange between a coupled NFC tag/reader pair, signal strength is measured from a plurality of NFC tag antennas each positioned differently with respect to a common reader field, and differences in signal strength are used to determine an optimum positioning of the tag, or tag emulator, with respect to the reader. Alternative embodiments may include signal time of flight for determining orientation of the NFC antennas within the reader field. Information is generated by the tag, or tag emulator, and output by the tag, or tag emulator, such that a user may direct the positioning of the tag, or tag emulator, for improved communication with the reader.

摘要: A method for detecting RFID tags attached to items positioned at a radio frequency identification (RFID) self-service checkout station is presented. The method includes creating one or more virtual shields at the RFID self-service checkout station, the one or more virtual shields defining checkout bins, associating RFID readers to the checkout bins, and enabling an RFID reader associated with the checkout bins to differentiate between RFID tags attached to items positioned inside a checkout bin and RFID tags attached to items positioned outside the checkout bin by at least determining a signal strength of each RFID tag detected by the RFID reader and estimating, based on an outcome of the signal strength of each RFID tag, a distance between each RFID reader and each RFID tag.

摘要: An RFID apparatus for communicating with at least one RFID transponder is provided that has an RFID transceiver for radiating and receiving RFID signals and a control unit that is configured to encode RFID information into the RFID signal in accordance with an RFID protocol or to read it from the RFID signal and in which a singulation process is implemented to give a command to only one respective RFID transponder. The singulation process in this respect checks a communication parameter of the RFID signal itself that is independent of RFID information encoded in the RFID signal.
