摘要: Transmission methods and systems include calibrating a mismatch between uplink and downlink digital elements of hybrid beamforming transceivers. calibrating a mismatch between uplink and downlink analog elements of the plurality of hybrid beamforming transceivers. Respective downlink channels are estimated between a user equipment and the hybrid beamforming transceivers using respective mismatch calibrations for the digital and analog elements of each of the hybrid beamforming transceivers. Data is transmitted to the user equipment from the hybrid beamforming transceivers using a distributed beamforming pattern based on the estimated downlink channels.

摘要: A method for shaping a mmWave wireless channel in a wireless network is presented. The method includes enabling communication between a multi-antenna transmitter and a multi-antenna receiver, positioning a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) in a vicinity of the multi-antenna transmitter and the multi-antenna receiver, constructing the RIS as a uniform planar array (UPA) structure forming a multi-beamforming framework, a surface of the UPA defining an array of discrete elements arranged in a grid pattern, wherein parameters of the discrete elements of the UPA are controllable to achieve multiple disjoint beams covering different solid angles, and enabling the plurality of users of the plurality of mobile devices positioned in blind spots of a coverage map to communicate with the multi-antenna transmitter by employing the MS to generate sharp and effective beams having almost uniform gain in a desired angular coverage interval (ACI).

摘要: Transmission systems include a configurable antenna, that transmits according to a configured beam, a hardware processor, and a memory that stores a computer program product. When the computer program product is executed by the hardware processor, it causes the hardware processor to send a first probing packet on the antenna using a first scanning beam, selected from a set of scanning beams, to determine feedback about the first probing packet, to send a second probing packet on the antenna using a second scanning beam, selected from the set of scanning beams based on the determined feedback about the first probing packet, to determine feedback about the second probing packet, to determine a data transmission beam based on the set of scanning beams and the received feedback about the first probing packet and the second probing packet, and to transmit data using the antenna, configured according to the determined transmission beam.

The method includes selecting a probing beam from a set of probing beams. The method further includes sending a plurality of probing packets from the AP to the UE using a dedicated probing beam selected for each probing packet from among the set of probing beams. The method also includes receiving feedback from the UE regarding the plurality of probing packets. The method additionally includes computing the data transmission beam based on the received feedback and the set of probing beams.

摘要: A communications system for hybrid beamforming is provided. The communications system includes a base station encoding data into a plurality of streams, each transmitted through a radio frequency chain. The communication system further includes a beamforming codebook including a set of beamforming codewords. The communications system also includes a beamformer transmitting a given one of the plurality of streams through multiple antennas by adjusting a phase and a gain of symbols of the given one of the plurality of streams for each of the multiple antennas by using a corresponding beamforming coefficient of a given beamforming codeword chosen from the beamforming codebook. A beam and its corresponding beamforming codeword is designed such that the mean squared error between the beam pattern generated with the given beamforming codeword and a given beam pattern is minimized.

摘要: A method for implementing opportunistic user scheduling under long-term and short-term resource fairness constraints is presented. The method includes enabling a base station to communicate with a plurality mobile devices handled by a plurality of users within a single-cell wireless communication network, deriving a feasible region of resource block (RB) fairness vectors by enabling an opportunistic scheduler to select active users from the plurality of users at each RB, implementing an optimal user scheduling strategy to maximize system utility by optimizing, via the opportunistic scheduler, transmit power and user mode selection, wherein the optimal user scheduling strategy includes a threshold-based strategy (TBS) phase and a compensation phase, and employing a short-term resource fair scheduling strategy satisfying user resource demands over a finite window-length.

The method includes decoding RN16s from signals received by a plurality of antennas by treating signal interference as noise.
