摘要: Methods for forming a latex are provided. In an embodiment, such a method comprises adding a monomer emulsion comprising water, a monomer, an acidic monomer, a multifunctional monomer, a first reactive surfactant, and a chain transfer agent, to a reactive surfactant solution comprising water, a second reactive surfactant, and an initiator, at a feed rate over a period of time so that monomers of the monomer emulsion undergo polymerization reactions to form resin particles in a latex, wherein the reactive surfactant solution does not comprise monomers other than the second reactive surfactant, the reactive surfactant solution does not comprise a resin seed, and the monomer emulsion does not comprise the resin seed. The latexes are also provided.

A method of producing an asphalt additive includes mixing an emulsion comprising an elastomer with a plurality of substrate particles. Another composition useful as an asphalt additive includes a plurality of substrate particles substantially coated with a first coating layer and a second coating layer, the first coating layer including a solid elastomer. An asphalt mix includes the asphalt additive composition, aggregate, and a binder.

摘要: A method for producing a wet rubber masterbatch, comprising a step (I) of adding, at the time of dispersing the filler into the dispersing solvent, at least one portion of the synthetic styrene butadiene rubber latex solution into the dispersing solvent to produce a slurry solution comprising the filler to which rubber latex particles adhere, a step (II) of mixing the slurry solution with the rest of the rubber latex solution to produce a filler-containing rubber latex solution in which the rubber latex particles adhere to the filler, a step (III) of solidifying the filler-containing rubber latex solution, in which the rubber latex particles adhere to the filler, to produce a rubber solidified product, and a step (IV) of dehydrating and drying the rubber solidified product, wherein in anyone of the steps (I) to (IV), the rubber powder is mixed with the wet-rubber-masterbatch-producing phase present in the step.

One alternative of the method includes surface treating a pigment to form a pigment system and mixing a polymer emulsion system or natural based binding system with the pigment system. Another alternative of the method includes mixing a pigment and polymer emulsion system or natural based binding system and hydrophobizing the polymer emulsion system or natural based binding system by adding silanes, siloxanes, siloxane/silicone resin blends, or their carbon based analogs.

摘要: Disclosed is a rubber composition for tire treads and a tire manufactured using the same. More particular, the rubber composition for tire treads includes 50 to 200 parts by weight of a wet masterbatch prepared by reacting a styrene-butadiene latex, a carbon black and a liquid styrene-butadiene copolymer at 50 to 95° C. for three to nine hours according to a batchwise method, 60 to 70 parts by weight of a raw rubber, and 50 to 200 parts by weight of a carbon black. Accordingly, the rubber composition for tire treads has enhanced grip and anti-wear performances under a condition of heavy load, high slip and high speed, and thus, may be usefully used in manufacturing a ultra-high performance tire.

摘要: A rubber composition of the present technology comprises: from 0.5 parts by mass to 1.5 parts by mass of sulfur, from 0.2 parts by mass to 0.6 parts by mass of a thiuram vulcanization accelerator, from 0.2 parts by mass to 0.6 parts by mass of a guanidine vulcanization accelerator, from 0.15 parts by mass to 0.8 parts by mass of a sulfenamide vulcanization accelerator, and from 0.1 parts by mass to 1.5 parts by mass of a thiourea vulcanization accelerator per 100 parts by mass of a diene polymer containing a chloroprene rubber.

摘要: The present invention relates to a process for making a polymer masterbatch with silica nanoparticles highly uniformly dispersed therein by using a stable aqueous emulsion of compatibilized silica nanoparticles, the sizes of which are mechanically reduced to nanoscales. Adequate reduction of the silica particles to nanoscales is essential for the formation of a desired emulsion of highly stability. The said emulsion of compatibilized silica nanoparticle can be easily mixed under mild conditions with a polymer in latex form, which can be high purity natural rubber, synthetic rubber and/or a blend thereof. The bifunctional organosilane coupling agent bonded-Silica nanoparticles are subsequently incorporated into the rubber polymer network during coagulation with formic acid. The inventive rubber-silica masterbatch thus obtained is useful for manufacturing rubber and other polymer composite products.
