摘要: The invention is related to a class of hydrophilic poly(meth)acrylamide-based copolymers each comprising dangling (i.e., pendant) reactive chains each terminated with a carboxyl group groups and at least 50% by mole of (meth)acrylamide repeating units relative to all repeating units of the hydrophilic poly(meth)acrylamide-based copolymer. The hydrophilic copolymers have a relatively high affinity to a base coating of a polyanionic polymer on a medical device or contact lens and are highly reactive towards azetidinium groups of an azetidinium-containing polymer upon heating. They can find particular use in producing water-soluble highly-branched hydrophilic polymeric material and in producing water gradient contact lenses.

摘要: An acrylic rubber that is a copolymer in which 1 to 3 wt. % of a fumaric acid monoalkyl ester monomer containing an alkyl group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms is copolymerized as a crosslinkable comonomer, wherein 45 to 65 wt. % of n-butyl acrylate, 12 to 32 wt. % of 2-methoxyethyl acrylate, and 11 to 30 wt. % of ethoxyethoxyethyl acrylate are copolymerized in 100 wt. % of comonomers other than the crosslinkable comonomer. This acrylic rubber can suppress the reduction of oil resistance while improving cold resistance represented by a TR-10 value.

摘要: Methods and devices are provided for pretreatment of a sample containing microbial cells. In some embodiments, the pretreatment of the sample is performed via the initial selective lysis, within a sample pretreatment vessel, of non-microbial cells (such as blood cells) and the subsequent centrifugal separation of the sample to remove the resulting debris and concentrate the microbial cells. An immiscible and dense cushioning liquid may be included for collecting the microbial cells adjacent to the liquid interface formed by the cushioning liquid upon centrifugation of the pretreatment vessel. After removal of a substantial quantity of the supernatant, resuspension of the collected microbial cells, and re-establishment of the cushioning liquid interface, at least a portion of the remaining suspension may be removed without substantially removing the cushioning liquid. One or more intermediate wash cycles may be performed prior to extraction of the remaining suspension, which provides a “pretreated” sample.

摘要: An aspect of the present disclosure relates to a method for producing a semiconducting single-walled carbon nanotube dispersion that includes a step of centrifuging a separation target SWCNT dispersion containing SWCNTs that include semiconducting SWCNTs and metallic SWCNTs, an aqueous medium, and a polymer, and then collecting a supernatant liquid containing the semiconducting SWCNTs.
