摘要: A polyester composition includes, based on the total weight of the polyester composition, a first polyester and a second polyester, wherein a weight ratio of the first polyester to the second polyester is 80:20 to 20:80, preferably 60:40 to 40:60; 5 to 60 weight percent (wt %), preferably 5 to 50 wt % of a reinforcing filler; and 5 to 60 wt %, preferably 10 to 50 wt %, more preferably 20 to 50 wt % of an inorganic filler having a specific gravity of greater than 3 grams per cubic centimeter, as determined in accordance with ASTM D792, wherein a molded article comprising the polyester composition has a sound transmission loss of greater than 30 dB, preferably 35 to 50 dB, more preferably 36 to 45 dB, as determined at 1,250 Hz according to ASTM E1050 using a molded disc with a diameter of 100 mm and a thickness of 3.2 mm.

摘要: A radiation-curable slurry for additive manufacturing of 3D metal objects is provided, comprising: (a) 2-45 wt % of a polymerizable resin; (b) 0.001-10 wt % of one or more polymerization photoinitiators; and (c) 55-98 wt % of a mixture of metal-containing compounds, wherein the mixture of metal-containing compounds comprises, based on the weight of said mixture, 5-95 wt % of metal particles and 5-95 wt % of one or more metal precursors. An additive manufacturing method for producing a three-dimensional metal object using the slurry is provided, as well as three-dimensional metal objects obtainable by the method.

摘要: High density compounds that can be used in extrusion-based 3D printing processes and methods for making the same are described. The high-density compounds can be made in the form of filaments by providing a thermoplastic material (such as ABS), providing a source of heavy metal (such as Bi2O3 powder), compounding the thermoplastic material and the heavy metal source to form high-density compound, and then extruding the high-density compound to form the filament shape. These filaments can be used to make a high-density product by melting the filaments in the printing head of a FDM 3D printer and then depositing the molten material in the 3D printer in successive layers to form the high-density product. The resulting high-density products exhibit an enhanced radiopacity because of the presence of the heavy metal, allowing the rapid manufacturing of radiation shielding components via the 3D printing process. Other embodiments are described.

摘要: A fiber having increased cut resistance is made from a fiber-forming polymer and a hard filler having a Mohs Hardness Value greater than about 3. The filler is included in an amount of about 0.05% to about 20% by weight. In preferred embodiments, the fiber-forming polymer is poly(ethylene terephthalate) or a liquid crystalline polyester comprising monomer units derived from 6-hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid and 4-hydroxybenzoic acid. Preferred fillers include tungsten and alumina.

摘要: The present invention relates to a thermosetting resin composition. The composition comprises from about 20 wt. % to about 70 wt. % of a thermosetting resin, from about 1 wt. % to about 30 wt. % of a curing agent, from about 0 wt. % to about 10 wt. % of an accelerant, a tungsten compound, and an inorganic filler. A prepreg may be prepared in an impregnation manner or a coating product may be prepared in a coating manner. The composition may decrease the thermal expansion coefficient of laminates and may effectively block UV light and decrease the light transmissivity.
