摘要: A fabric has enhanced response characteristics for laser finishing. The fabric can be denim for denim apparel such as jeans. Software and lasers are used to finish apparel made of the fabric to produce a desired wear or distressing pattern or other design. The fabric allows for relatively fast color change in response to the laser, color changes in hue from indigo blue to white, many grayscale levels, and maintains strength and stretch properties. A method used to make the fabric includes spinning, dyeing, and weaving yarns in such a way to obtain the desired enhanced response characteristics for laser finishing.

摘要: Fabrics and garments are disclosed that have dual protection against molten metal splashes and electrical arc flashes. The fabrics can be made from spun yarns containing an intimate blend of fibers. The fibers contained in each yarn can include wool fibers, flame resistant cellulose fibers, and nylon fibers. In one aspect, relatively long wool fibers are incorporated into the yarns.

摘要: A communications node includes an apparel item in the form of a harness that includes a primary portion. A halo element extends from the primary portion and is configured to be worn about the neck. A fastener that demountably couples the primary portion to the halo element. An antenna element positioned within the apparel item. An A/V hub is affixed to the halo portion and configured to receive audio/video input. The apparel item also includes a communications device and battery. A control circuit is communicatively coupled to the antenna element, the A/V hub, the communications device, and the battery. The A/V hub demountably and communicatively couples to an audio/video source. The control circuit is configured to establish a self-organizing WAN with computing devices that connect directly, dynamically, and non-hierarchically to the WAN. The antenna elements include a graphene polymer conductive composition. The apparel item is multilayered and reflects RF radiation.

摘要: Aspects herein are directed to an apparel layer system configured to provide variable levels of insulation, warming, or air permeability. The apparel layer system comprises a first layer of material and a second layer of material both extending in a first planar direction. A third layer of material is positioned between the first and the second layers of material and is selectively affixed thereto. An adjustment mechanism coupled to the second layer of material can be mechanically manipulated to shift the second layer of material between different positions or states to achieve variable levels of offset between the first and second layers of material in the first planar direction and in a second direction perpendicular to the first planar direction.

摘要: A method is for filling a fillable portion of a garment to be padded to obtain a padded garment, such as a garment or blanket. A cashmere fiber mass is fed towards a carding station. The cashmere fiber mass is mechanically opened and blended in the carding station by a carding machine to obtain a staple cashmere fiber. The staple cashmere fiber exiting from the carding station is fed towards a beating station. The staple cashmere fiber is cleaned in the beating station by cleaning air flow adapted to cross and inflate the staple cashmere fiber to remove residual impurities and dust from the staple cashmere fiber. The staple cashmere fiber exiting from the beating station is fed towards an injecting station and injected into the fillable portion by a pusher for introducing the staple cashmere fiber into the fillable portion to obtain the padded garment.

摘要: Silk performance apparel and methods of preparing the same are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, silk performance apparel includes textiles, fabrics, consumer products, and other materials that are coated with aqueous solutions of pure silk fibroin-based protein fragments. In some embodiments, coated apparel products exhibit surprisingly improved moisture management properties and increased resistance to microbial growth.

摘要: An article of apparel is disclosed that is at least partially formed from a material element having a substrate and a plurality of projections. The substrate has a first surface and an opposite second surface. The projections extend from the first surface of the substrate, and the projections each have terminal ends located opposite the substrate. The material element has a first permeability when the first surface has a convex configuration, and the material element has a second permeability when the first surface has a concave configuration, the first permeability being greater than the second permeability. The apparel may be reversible such that either the first surface or the second surface of the substrate faces outward.

摘要: Hydrophobic fabrics and garments made therefrom are provided. The fabrics and garments in accordance with aspects herein comprise at least two seamlessly adjacent woven zones, where the first fabric/garment zone comprises substantially planar surfaces, and the second fabric/garment zone comprises a plurality of integrally raised structures on at least one of the surfaces of the fabric/garment. The integrally raised structures in the second fabric/garment zone are continuously woven/knit with the first zone. The integrally raised structures in the second zone of the fabric/garment are provided on the garments, in accordance with aspects herein, as wipe zones for transferring fluids away from a wearer's skin upon the wearer rubbing their wet skin off on the wipe zone(s).
