    摘要: The present invention relates to a special method of preventing substrate colour changes when impregnating porous inorganic substrates, by first applying to the target substrate surface a primer composition, drying and curing the primer system, the substrate surface acquiring hydrophobic and oleophobic properties such that drops of water applied thereto evaporate before they penetrate into the substrate and a drop of n-decane likewise applied thereto and left to act for 30 seconds can be removed, without the drops leaving dark spots on the substrate surface, and then carrying out the impregnation. The present invention further relates to the use of fluoroalkyl-modified and/or fluorofunctional acrylate systems or fluoroalkyl-/aminoalkyl-/alkoxyand/or hydroxy-functional siloxane systems or fluoroalkyl-functional silane and/or siloxane systems or mixtures of at least two of the aforementioned substances or solutions thereof in water and/or alcohol as primers for preventing substrate colour changes in the case of architectural preservation by impregnation.

    摘要: A concrete material that includes an elastomeric polymer in an amount sufficient to provide flexibility to the resultant material; a silicone resin in an amount sufficient to improve adhesion between the elastomeric polymer and the cement; a cement that has low shrinkage and expansion properties; a filler; and water in an amount sufficient to cure the cement and form the concrete material. The polymer is present in an amount which fills at least some of the pores in the material and the silicone resin helps the polymer bond the filler to the cement. Also, a concrete material property improving additive in the form of a polymer admixture that includes the elastomeric polymer, a silicone resin and at least one solvent in an amount sufficient to form a viscous flowable mass. Another embodiment is a method of forming a concrete material by forming and curing a mixture of the additive, a cement that has low shrinkage and expansion properties, a filler, and water in an amount sufficient to cure the cement. Another embodiment is a method of repairing a crack or fracture in a concrete or cement surface by cleaning surfaces of the crack or fracture to remove loose material and to create a cavity, applying the concrete material of the invention under pressure into the cavity, and allowing the concrete material to cure to repair the crack or fracture. The resultant repaired surface forms yet another embodiment of the invention.

    摘要: An exemplary hard, inflexible flooring material or wall covering material is disclosed, such as a tile, having a top surface and a bottom surface, wherein the bottom surface is provided with a solid, primer layer having about 60 wt % to 100 wt % of a hydrophobic material, and which layer is present in a thickness between 0.001 to 0.5 mm. A method is disclosed of adhering a tile which has been provided with such a solid, primer layer to a substrate, the method including: applying an adhesive to at least a portion of the substrate; impressing the bottom surface of the tile into the adhesive; and, allowing the adhesive to dry. Alternatively, the substrate can be provided with such primer layer, and an adhesive and tile can be applied on the substrate.

    摘要: An improved primer formulation for composite building materials, such as materials that are generally cementitious, gypsum, or of another inorganic building material, such as those containing cellulose, glass, steel or polymeric fibers. The improved formulation effectively blocks moisture from penetrating the composite building material and is better than alternate or conventional primers. The formulation also improves adhesion and prevents peel failure of a topcoat when applied to the composite building material. The improved formulation acts as a weather-guard and a hydrophobic treatment to all surfaces of the composite building material upon application.
