摘要:
A fuel cell system and a method for controlling the same are provided. The method includes rapidly increasing an angular speed of a rotating magnetic field of an induction motor to maximize iron loss of the induction motor, thereby resulting in an increase in the temperature of a rise cell stack. The method further includes eliminating torque of a driving motor generated by an increase in the angular speed of the rotating magnetic field, using a torque eliminator. The torque eliminator includes a P-stage reducer or a hydraulic break.

A method and an apparatus using a power transistor in a fuel cell stack diagnostic system provides an apparatus using a power transistor in a fuel cell stack diagnostic system. The apparatus includes a regenerative braking detector that detects regenerative braking of a fuel cell vehicle equipped with a fuel cell stack diagnostic system; a voltage rise determiner that determines whether a voltage rise due to regenerative braking of a fuel cell vehicle is a predetermined value or more; and a power transistor controller that controls an AC signal generator so that the voltage due to the regenerative braking is discharged by the power transistor, when the voltage rise due to regenerative braking determined by the voltage rise determiner is a predetermined value or more.

A vehicle includes a fuel cell system, and a controller configured to receive a first signal indicative of a predicted ambient temperature at a specified location, and command the fuel cell system to operate at a reduced relative humidity when the predicted ambient temperature is below a threshold value. A method for controlling a fuel cell system includes receiving a first signal at a controller indicative of a predicted ambient temperature for a specified location, and operating the fuel cell system at a reduced relative humidity when the predicted ambient temperature is below a threshold value. A fuel cell system includes a fuel cell stack, and a controller configured to, in response to receiving a predicted freezing condition, command the fuel cell stack to operate at a lower relative humidity level for a time period preceding a predicted time for system shut down.

A fuel cell vehicle air-conditioning apparatus includes: a cooling system that adjusts a temperature of a fuel cell; a waste heat collection unit that collects at least a part of waste heat from the fuel cell and uses the collected waste heat to heat a cabin interior of the fuel cell vehicle; and a heat creation unit that creates heat for heating the fuel cell vehicle. The fuel cell vehicle air-conditioning apparatus calculates a fuel consumption amount required for the fuel cell to generate a total power generation amount, which is a sum of a heating power generation amount and a travel power generation amount, calculates an optimum temperature, which is a temperature of the fuel cell at which the fuel consumption amount reaches a minimum, and controls the cooling system such that the temperature of the fuel cell reaches the optimum temperature.

A system for operating a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) heater in a fuel cell vehicle includes a fuel cell stack and a PTC heater generating heat when supplied with an electric current. A controller is configured to check a key-start state of the vehicle and determine whether or not an outdoor temperature is lower than a reference temperature. If it is determined that the vehicle is key-started so as to activate the fuel cell stack, and the outdoor temperature is lower than the reference temperature, the controller supplies electrical energy generated by the fuel cell stack to the PTC heater, thereby driving the PTC heater.

An electric load is electrically connected to a path between an external power supply and a power storage device. An ECU executes temperature-rise control, when the temperature of the power storage device is low, ensuring power consumption of the electric load in association with charging/discharging of the power storage device. During execution of temperature-rise control, the ECU sets a power command value of the external charger, alternately causing a discharging mode having the output power of the external charger positively controlled and in which power consumption of the electric load is ensured in association with discharging of the power storage device, and a charging mode having the output power of the external charger negatively controlled and in which power consumption of the electric load is ensured in association with charging of the power storage device.

An automobile assembly and a method of producing hydrogen gas within an automobile assembly. An automobile is provided that contains a fuel cell. The fuel cell produces electricity from purified hydrogen gas. The vehicle also has a standard fuel tank that holds liquid fuel and a water tank that holds water. A fuel reformation system is carried by the vehicle. The fuel reformation system reacts water with liquid fuel to produce hydrogen gas and exhaust gases. The hydrogen gas is separated and is supplied to the fuel cell as needed by the fuel cell. The fuel cell produces electricity that drives electric motors to power the wheel of the vehicle. The vehicle, therefore, uses traditional liquid fuel to produce the hydrogen needed to operate the fuel cell and power an otherwise electric vehicle.

A wheel drive system for an aircraft that features at least one electric motor and at least one fuel cell as energy source for the electric motor, wherein the electric motor is coupleable to at least one wheel of at least one landing gear of the aircraft. The wheel drive system reduces the fuel consumption and lowers the emission of CO2 and pollutants—primarily carbon monoxide and unburned hydrocarbons. Persons, vehicles and other aircraft furthermore are not endangered by a jet blast while the aircraft is taxiing because the main engines do not have to be started until the take-off and landing strip is reached. The operation of the wheel drive system furthermore leads to a reduced noise pollution.
