Abstract: A method for controlling a fuel cell vehicle includes acquiring a state data, deriving a mathematical voltage model by substituting the acquired state data into a voltage calculation formula, measuring a voltage of a fuel cell, approximating a mathematical voltage model to a measurement voltage and deriving the reaction area data when the mathematical voltage model approximates the measurement voltage, and controlling the system of the fuel cell vehicle based on the derived reaction area data to eliminate or prevent an over-humidification situation of the fuel cell.

Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods for a transformer including: a first drive winding (206) wound on a first core; a second drive winding wound on a second core; a sense winding wound across the first and second cores; and a compensation winding wound across the first and second cores; where one or more utility lines are threaded through a middle of the first and second cores, a common mode current in the one or more utility lines causes one or more pulses to appear on the sense winding, a current on the compensation winding is adjusted until the one or more pulses on the sense winding are cancelled out, and the common mode current on the one or more utility lines is the adjusted current on the compensation winding multiplied by a turn ratio between the compensation winding and the sense winding.

Abstract: Systems and methods for initiating voltage recovery procedures in a fuel cell system based in part on an estimated specific activity over the life of a fuel cell catalyst are presented. In certain embodiments, SA loss of catalyst and electrochemical surface area loss of a FC system may be estimated. An output voltage of the FC system may be estimated based on the estimated SA loss and the electrochemical surface area loss. An amount of recoverable voltage loss may be determined based on a comparison between the estimated output voltage and a measured output voltage. Based on the determined amount of recordable voltage loss, a FC system control action (e.g., a voltage recovery procedure) may be initiated.

Abstract: A method of discharging water from a mobile object, which includes a fuel cell, a gas-liquid separator, and a circulation pump, comprises: an inclined state detection step of detecting an inclined state of the mobile object with respect to a horizontal plane; a scavenging start step of starting to supply scavenging gas at a predetermined first supply flow rate to a gas flow path in the fuel cell, by driving the circulation pump; and a supply flow rate increase step of increasing, when the mobile object is in a predetermined inclined state in which an outlet of the gas flow path is directed upward against a direction of gravity, a rotational speed of the circulation pump so that the supply flow rate of the scavenging gas is increased to a second supply flow rate higher than the first supply flow rate after a predetermined period from starting to supply the scavenging gas.

Abstract: A system for measuring the insulation resistance of a fuel cell vehicle is provided. The system includes a fuel cell that supplies power, a rechargeable high-voltage battery, and a bidirectional converter, disposed between an output terminal of the fuel cell and the high-voltage battery, to adjust a voltage at the output terminal of the fuel cell. A fast measurement unit measures the insulation resistance of the fuel cell vehicle by being connected to the output terminal of the fuel cell and a second measurement unit measures the insulation resistance of the fuel cell vehicle by being connected to the output terminal of the high-voltage battery. A controller operates the bidirectional converter based on the state of the fuel cell vehicle and measure the insulation resistance of the fuel cell vehicle using the first measurement unit or the second measurement unit

Abstract: A power distribution method and system for a fuel cell vehicle is provided. The method includes deducing an amount of moisture in a stack of a fuel cell, when a supply amount of air of the stack of the fuel cell is decreased and determining a state of the fuel cell based on the amount of moisture. Additionally, the method includes deducing allowance power of a regenerative braking of a driving motor using maximum power of the regenerative braking of an air compressor and chargeable power of a high voltage battery based on the determined state. The regenerative braking of the driving motor is then adjusted to prevent actual power of the regenerative braking of the driving motor from exceeding the allowance power of the regenerative braking.

Abstract: A method is provided for notifying a driver that charging is required determined by utilizing the calculated remaining travel distance of the vehicle, the position information of the charging station and the position information about the destination. In particular, the method determines when the total travel distance in consideration of the destination exceeds the remaining travel distance of the vehicle. The driver is notified of the necessity for charging during the initial traveling, and before traveling beyond the rechargeable returning distance.
