    摘要: A vehicle arrangement (20) for thawing thermal energy from and/or rejecting thermal energy to a plurality of components in a vehicle, the arrangement comprising a heat-pump assembly (12) comprising a first heat-pump section (18) at a first temperature and a second heat-pump section (22) at a second temperature different from the first temperature, and a first thermal energy distribution path (26) for transporting a first carrier fluid and extending through at least a portion of the first heat-pump section (18), and a second thermal energy distribution path (28) for transporting a second carrier fluid and extending through at least a portion of the second heat-pump section (22). The arrangement further comprises a first circulation pump (32) associated with the first thermal energy distribution path (26) for pumping the first carrier fluid around the first thermal energy distribution path and a second circulation pump (34) associated with the second thermal energy distribution path (28) for pumping the second carrier fluid around the second thermal energy distribution path. In addition the system comprises means (78-100) for selectively connecting at least one of the plurality of vehicle components to at least one of the thermal energy distribution paths so as to draw thermal energy from and/or reject thermal energy to said vehicle component or components.

    摘要: A thermal management system having a first heating device, such as a rechargeable energy storage system (RESS), and a second heating device, such as an internal combustion engine (ICE), for a vehicle is provided. The system may allow waste heat within an ICE to be stored in a RESS, and may cool the RESS by depositing heat in the ICE. The RESS and the ICE are located in a first coolant circuit and a second coolant circuit, respectively. The system also includes a third coolant circuit interconnected with the first coolant circuit, and in thermal communication with the second coolant circuit via a first heat exchanger. The first and third coolant circuits are configured to circulate a first coolant, and the second coolant circuit is configured to circulate a second coolant. The RESS and the ICE are each configured to selectively operate as a heat source or a heat sink.

    摘要: A waste-heat collection system for a vehicle is provided. The vehicle includes an internal combustion engine and an exhaust manifold via which exhaust manifold hot exhaust gas coming from the internal combustion engine is introduced into an engine-side segment of an exhaust system. The exhaust manifold and/or the engine-side segment of the exhaust system, an exhaust gas turbocharger and/or a catalytic converter are at least partially surrounded by a waste-heat collecting housing. Air contained in the waste-heat collecting housing is heated by waste heat of these components and the heated air is used to charge a latent heat accumulator.

    摘要: A climate control system and method controls climate at selected regions within a passenger compartment of a vehicle. The thermoelectric system includes a plurality of thermoelectric assemblies. The system includes at least one fluid conduit configured to allow a liquid to flow in the at least one fluid conduit. The system further includes a plurality of thermoelectric assemblies. At least two thermoelectric assemblies of the plurality of thermoelectric assemblies are in thermal communication with the liquid and each of the at least two thermoelectric assemblies has a corresponding region within the passenger compartment. The at least two thermoelectric assemblies are selectively operable to transfer heat between the corresponding region and the liquid, wherein the at least two thermoelectric assemblies are each operable independently from one another.
