摘要: A composition for an acoustic wave probe, containing the following ingredients (A) to (D): (A) a linear polysiloxane having a vinyl group; (B) a linear polysiloxane having two or more Si—H groups in a molecular chain; (C) a polysiloxane resin; and (D) surface-treated silica particles having an average primary particle diameter more than 16 nm and less than 100 nm, as well as, a silicone resin for an acoustic wave probe, an acoustic wave probe, an ultrasound probe, an acoustic wave measurement apparatus, an ultrasound diagnostic apparatus, a photoacoustic wave measurement apparatus, and an ultrasound endoscope, using the composition for an acoustic wave probe.

The biodegradable polymer scaffold, preventing inflammatory responses caused by acidic substances produced during a degradation process, has easily controllable mechanical strength, and includes bioactive materials derived from cells of target tissues, and thus may induce tissue regeneration more effectively.

摘要: A steerable robotic needle formed from a compliant wire that is surrounded by an inner layer having one or more tunable regions positioned in predetermined locations and an inert region extending over the rest of the wire. The tunable region changes stiffness in response to an external trigger, such as heating via electrical energy, so that the needle can bend more readily in the predetermined location. The inner layer may be encapsulated in an elastomeric tube to prevent heat from reaching the surrounding environment. The resulting change in stiffness allows the needle to perform maneuvers in a body that require a larger curvature.

摘要: A method for controlling generation of biologically desirable voids in a composition placed in proximity to bone or other tissue in a patient by selecting at least one water-soluble inorganic material having a desired particle size and solubility, and mixing the water-soluble inorganic material with at least one poorly-water-soluble or biodegradable matrix material. The matrix material, after it is mixed with the water-soluble inorganic material, is placed into the patient in proximity to tissue so that the water-soluble inorganic material dissolves at a predetermined rate to generate biologically desirable voids in the matrix material into which bone or other tissue can then grow.

An adhesion-preventing material including a sterilized biocompatible sponge-like laminate, wherein the sponge-like laminate comprises a sponge-like first layer and a sponge-like second layer each of which is at least partially crosslinked with a curing agent and comprises a low-endotoxin alginic acid monovalent metal salt, the alginic acid monovalent metal salt in the first layer has a weight average molecular weight of 10,000 to 2,000,000, the alginic acid monovalent metal salt in the second layer has a weight average molecular weight of 1,000 to 1,000,000, the weight average molecular weights are measured by a GPC-MALS method after a decrosslinking treatment, and the weight average molecular weight of the alginic acid monovalent metal salt in the first layer is higher than that in the second layer.

摘要: A method for forming metal nanoparticles on halloysite nanotubes. The method provides a water-based suspension solution containing about 0.002% to about 0.1% by weight of halloysite nanotubes. The suspension solution is maintained between about 2° C. and about 98° C. and under sufficient mixing that the nanotubes are maintained in substantially constant suspension. At least one positive and at least one negative metal electrode is positioned in the suspension solution, wherein the metal electrodes are at least 98% pure metal. A voltage is maintained across the electrodes of between about 10 and about 300 volts for a time sufficient to form metal ions on at least about 10% of a surface of the halloysite nanotubes.

摘要: Systems, methods and kits relating to in-situ forming polymer foams for the treatment of aneurysms or fluid filled spaces are disclosed. The systems include an insertable medical device and an in-situ forming foam of lava like materials with a fast forming outer skin and a slower hardening interior that is formed from a one-, two- or multi-part formulation. When used to treat an aneurysm, the foam is placed into contact with at least a portion of an exterior surface of the medical device and/or the tissue surface of the aneurysm.
