摘要: A composition comprises: a base oil; an additive; and a drug. The additive has segments which are conjugated, e.g. covalently linked, together. A first segment facilitates solubility in the base oil, whereas a second segment facilitates drug solubility and/or modifies drug release or other behaviour. The first segment may for example comprise a poly(dimethylsiloxane)-containing moiety. The second segment may for example resemble a drug molecule. The composition may for example be used as a tamponade or as a component for a tamponade administered to the eye.

摘要: An apparatus for forming C1 to C5 alcohol, carboxylic acid, or mixture thereof from carbon dioxide and hydrogen is described. The apparatus comprises: a dielectric barrier discharge, DBD, device arranged to generate a plasma; and a passageway having an inlet for the carbon dioxide and the hydrogen and an outlet for the C1 to C5 alcohol, carboxylic acid, or mixture thereof and including therein a catalyst comprising nickel and/or cobalt and/or copper on a support. The passageway extends, at least in part, through the DBD device wherein, in use, the carbon dioxide is exposed to the catalyst in the presence of the hydrogen in the generated plasma, thereby forming the C1 to C5 alcohol, carboxylic acid, or mixture thereof from at least some of the carbon dioxide and the hydrogen. The DBD devices comprises a water electrode. A method and a catalyst are also described.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to a method and a system for biomechanically characterising ocular tissue (C) through deformation of the ocular tissue. The method comprises: generating an acoustic stimulus for delivery onto the ocular tissue in a collinear anner with an axis of a measuring device, for producing vibration of the ocular tissue; measuring ocular tissue displacement with the measuring device at a plurality of locations of the ocular tissue; obtaining at least a biomechanical parameter by processing the ocular tissue displacements at the plurality of locations. The disclosure also relates to a method and a system for screening biomechanical abnormality of ocular tissue (C).

摘要: A method of providing an article having a set of directional channels, including a first directional channel, therein is described. The method comprises preparing a mixture including particles comprising a first material and a first binding agent. The method comprises providing an article precursor by surrounding a pattern comprising a second material with the mixture. The method comprises heating the article precursor thereby coalescing the particles to provide the article. The method comprises removing the pattern by reacting the second material to form a gaseous product, thereby providing the set of directional channels in the article, wherein the set of directional channels corresponds with the removed pattern. Such an article is also described.
