Abstract:
There is provided a process for producing a shaped catalyst for a fixed bed oxidation reaction or a fixed bed oxidative dehydrogenation reaction, the catalyst having both of sufficient mechanical strength and catalyst performance, and the catalyst is produced by supporting a catalyst powder containing a complex metal oxide having molybdenum as an essential ingredient on an inert support by a tumbling granulation method at a relative centrifugal force of 1 to 35 G.
Abstract:
A method for producing a conjugated diolefin is configured as follows. A monoolefin having four or more carbon atoms is fed from a monoolefin feed nozzle(s) installed at n place(s) (n=1, 2, . . . , n). In addition, at least 50% or more of a total amount of an oxygen-containing gas is fed from an oxygen-containing gas feed nozzle located at a bottom of a fluidized bed reactor. Furthermore, the monoolefin feed nozzles at distances a1, a2, . . . , an from the oxygen-containing gas feed nozzle feed the monoolefin having four or more carbon atoms at ratios of b1, b2, . . . , bn (b1+b2+ . . . +bn=1), respectively, and an arithmetic mean value represented by the following formula and obtained from the above distances and the above ratios is 100 mm or more. arithmetic mean value=a1*b1+a2*b2+ . . . +an*bn
Abstract:
A linear alkyl benzene product and production of linear alkylbenzene from a natural oil are provided. A method comprises the step of deoxygenating the natural oils to form a stream comprising paraffins. The paraffins are dehydrogenated to provide mono-olefins. Then, benzene is alkylated with the mono-olefins under alkylation conditions to provide an alkylation effluent comprising alkylbenzenes and benzene. Thereafter, the alkylbenzenes are isolated to provide the alkylbenzene product.

Abstract:
A method of manufacturing aromatic hydrocarbons, which are suitable for the production of terephthalic acid, from tall oil-based raw material. According to the invention, the raw material that contains tall oil or its fraction is catalytically deoxygenated with hydrogen, and one or more aromatic hydrocarbons that can be converted into terephthalic acid are separated from the deoxygenated reaction yield. The deoxygenation catalyst is a NiMo catalyst and, in addition, a cracking catalyst can be used, such as an acidic zeolite catalyst. The separated hydrocarbon can be p-xylene, o-xylene or p-cymene. According to the invention, these can be converted by oxidation and, when needed, by a re-arrangement reaction into terephthalic acid that is suitable for the source material of the manufacture of bio-based polyethylene terephthalate.
Abstract:
This invention covers a process for dimerizing of isobutylene to Iso-octene and unique configuration is being disclosed, where the Feed is diluted to low level with recycle which has essentially no Iso-octene, dual catalyst system, new selectivator (IPA) and successive catalyst stages if needed to enhance the conversion. The process is very selective and provides higher isobutylene conversion.Additionally the invention also covers the hydrogenation of olefins to Paraffin, Iso-octene to Iso-octane product under moderate conditions and with dual or single catalyst system.
Abstract:
Paraffin compositions including mainly even carbon number paraffins, and a method for manufacturing the same, is disclosed herein. In one embodiment, the method involves contacting naturally occurring fatty acid/glycerides with hydrogen in a slurry bubble column reactor containing bimetallic catalysts with equivalent particle diameters from about 10 to about 400 micron. The even carbon number compositions are particularly useful as phase change material.
Abstract:
A feedstock originating from renewable sources is converted to branched and saturated hydrocarbons without heteroatoms in the diesel fuel distillation range by skeletal isomerisation and deoxygenation carried out by hydrodeoxygenation or alternatively by combined decarboxylation and decarbonylation reactions, whereby the consumption of hydrogen is decreased.
Abstract:
A process is described for the hydrogenation of olefinic streams containing sulfurated compounds, obtained starting from hydrocarbon cuts containing isobutene (by means of selective dimerization), characterized by fractionating said streams in one or more distillation columns and hydrogenating separately the two fractions obtained. The stream at the head, with a minimum content of sulfurated compounds, is hydrogenated with conventional catalysts based on nickel or noble metals (Platinum and/or Palladium), extremely active but also very sensitive to sulfur, whereas the bottom of the column, rich in sulfurated compounds, is treated with bimetallic catalysts (for example Ni/Co and/or Ni/Mo), less active but not deactivated by sulfur.
