摘要: A vehicle body reinforcement device comprises an elongated shape with its middle portion comprising a hydraulic damper that produces a damping force against longitudinal deformation. Two vehicle body reinforcement devices may be mounted in a longitudinal manner to a vehicle body frame with a lateral space being defined between the two devices. Both ends of each of the vehicle body reinforcement devices can be removably attached from outside of the vehicle to positions that are exposed outside of the passenger compartment and below the vehicle body.

摘要: A vehicular frame assembly is manufactured by initially providing a vehicular frame assembly that is formed from a plurality of structural members, each having an inherent torsional rigidity. Then, a desired inherent torsional rigidity can be determined for at least one of the plurality of structural members. Lastly, the at least one of the plurality of structural members can be deformed to achieve the desired inherent torsional rigidity. Alternatively, the vehicular frame assembly can be manufactured by initially providing a plurality of structural members, each having an inherent torsional rigidity. A desired inherent torsional rigidity can be determined for at least one of the plurality of structural members, and the at least one of the plurality of structural members is deformed to achieve the desired inherent torsional rigidity. Lastly, the plurality of structural members can be assembled to form the vehicular frame assembly.

摘要: A suspension support structure has left and right suspension arms which are joined to and supported by a first cross member disposed so as to extend along the vehicle width direction and a second cross member disposed so as to extend along the vehicle width direction in the rear of the first cross member. The first cross member has a first intermediate part, and two first end parts which extend forward at an inclination to the vehicle body from the both ends of the first intermediate part and are supported at the vehicle body side. The second cross member has a second intermediate part, and two second end parts which extend rearward at an inclination to the vehicle body from the both ends of the second intermediate part and are supported at the vehicle body side.

摘要: A suspension and steering subassembly for a heavy truck is provided including a subframe. The subframe includes first and second side members extending substantially in the direction of vehicle travel and first and second cross members extending substantially perpendicular to the direction of vehicle travel. The first and second cross members are integral with the first and second side members such that the subframe is a unitary member. The first and second side members and the first and second cross members are further configured to receive first and second lower suspension control arms, first and second upper suspension control arms, and a portion of the steering linkage for the vehicle. The subframe may further be configured to receive a steering gear and one or more strut rods to provide fore/aft support to the subframe.

摘要: A suspension and steering subassembly for a heavy truck is provided including a subframe. The subframe includes first and second side members extending substantially in the direction of vehicle travel and first and second cross members extending substantially perpendicular to the direction of vehicle travel. The first and second cross members are integral with the first and second side members such that the subframe is a unitary member. The first and second side members and the first and second cross members are further configured to receive first and second lower suspension control arms, first and second upper suspension control arms, and a portion of the steering linkage for the vehicle. The subframe may further be configured to receive a steering gear and one or more strut rods to provide fore/aft support to the subframe.

摘要: The vehicle includes a suspended running chassis (1) making it possible to define a longitudinal and vertical plane forming a reference on the chassis (1), the preferred running direction being parallel to the longitudinal plane, and at least two wheel connecting systems, the wheels (2) of which are not aligned relative to the longitudinal plane, the wheel connecting systems being mounted on the chassis (1) on either side of the latter in the transverse direction, each of the wheel connecting systems including a wheel (2) mounted on a support (5) by means of a suspension device allowing vertical deflection of the wheel (2) relative to the support (5), the suspensions being independent of one another. Each support (5) is mounted on the chassis (1) by means of a camber mechanism which includes a camber lever (4) and an activating lever (40) making it possible to vary the camber angle of the corresponding wheel (2). The camber mechanism includes an arm (70) mounted on the support (5) on an axis of support oriented substantially parallel to the longitudinal plane, and mounted on the chassis (1) without any possibility of tilting about a longitudinal axis relative to the chassis (1), so as to transmit the weight carried by the chassis to the support (5).

摘要: An exterior lateral side rail in the area of a passenger compartment is adjoined in the forward structure and/or rearward structure of a vehicle by additional side rails which, in particular, are provided with a right-angle bend. Elements that reinforce the vehicle body are connected with the side rails at one end of the elements, and with an underbody or underbody components at the other end of the elements. The reinforcing elements include a first V-shaped strutting which extends in an approximately horizontal plane in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle and which is connected with a second V-shaped strutting which is arranged in an approximately perpendicular transverse plane. By its free ends, the first strutting is fastened to the side rails and, by its opposite ends, it is fastened to the second strutting at a common connection area. The second strutting is supported by its free ends on the side rails.

One arm 18 in any pair extends lengthwise of the vehicle from an anchorage 30 on the vehicle to a mounting 14 and the other 20 extends transversely of the vehicle from an anchorage 32 on the vehicle to the mounting 14. Each mounting carries a buffer 36 which on upward movement presses against one of two spring arms 38 carried by mountings 42, one arm being locked in its mounting. The vehicle has an overcover 70 and an undercover 72. In a modification pneumatic spring units instead of arms 38 control vertical wheel motion.

摘要: A vehicle suspension including a main frame, front and rear pairs of wheels, and at least one axle extending between the wheels of each pair. Two forwardly and rearwardly elongated members are pivotally carried by the frame to pivot about length axes defined by the members, with each member having front and rear turnec portions. Four supports are on the axles near the wheels, the supports terminally supporting the turned end portions, respectively for pivoting about axes that extend forwardly and rearwardly, during pivoting of the members. Structure is provided to interconnect said two elongated members to transmit torque therebetween. A torsion bar may be activated between the two wheels of the front or rear pairs of wheels.
