    摘要: A safety guard for a vehicle, such as a school or transit bus, includes a skirt extending below a side body portion of the vehicle and between front and rear wheels along a side of the vehicle. The skirt functions to push individuals and other animate objects out of the path of the wheels for safety purposes, while being mounted for separate linear and arcuate movements relative to the body of the vehicle to protect the guard from damage upon abutting an inanimate object during operation of the vehicle.

Side chassis structure includes: apron reinforcement member; fender panel covering outside of the apron reinforcement member; and brackets connected to the fender panel.     摘要: An isolated coolant reservoir displaceable from an operational position to a position pushed out of the Pedestrian Protection Zone in an impact event is provided. The reservoir relative to the vehicle's body structure is generally isolated either by external damping structures or by integrated or internal flexible mounts. Structures that provide external damping of the reservoir relative to the vehicle's body structure include flexible polymerized isolators and flexible metal isolators. Flexible polymerized isolators may be compressible insulators or may be flexible arms, both of which are positioned between the integral arms of the reservoir and the body structure. Flexible metal isolators may be springs or dampers. Integrated or internal flexible mounts include angular flexible arms having slotted ends that extend from the reservoir to the body structure. Further variations of the integrated arm structure include a living hinge incorporated into the arm and arcuate arm.

    摘要: A vehicle includes a headlamp assembly, an upper bumper assembly, and a reinforcement bracket. The headlamp assembly includes a headlamp housing and a brace portion. The brace portion includes a front end that extends forward beyond the headlamp housing in the vehicle-longitudinal direction. The upper bumper assembly extends in a vehicle-lateral direction. The upper bumper assembly is positioned forward in the vehicle longitudinal direction with respect to the brace portion. The reinforcement bracket is attached to the brace portion. The reinforcement bracket has a rigidity higher than a rigidity of the brace portion. The reinforcement bracket reinforces the brace portion upon engagement with the upper bumper assembly as the upper bumper assembly deflects rearward in the vehicle-longitudinal direction in response to a front impact to the upper bumper assembly to inhibit movement of the upper bumper assembly rearward in the vehicle-longitudinal direction.
