摘要： Arrangements for preparing a television channel for presentation are presented. A tuner of a television receiver may tune to a first television channel and the first television channel may be output for presentation. One or more idle tuners of the television receiver may be identified. One or more television channels other than the first television channel may be selected for preparation. The one or more television channels may be selected prior to receiving user input selecting a television channel of the one or more television channels for presentation. Each of the one or more television channels may be prepared for presentation by tuning, by each tuner of the one or more idle tuners, to the one or more television channels prior to receiving the user input selecting the television channel of the one or more television channels for presentation.

摘要： A method in a server for providing various Internet Protocol television signal qualities involves an IPTV signal having a first signal quality that is transmitted over a first network connection to a first device. A request to receive the IPTV signal over a second network connection at a second device with the IPTV signal having a second signal quality is received. A determination is made that the second network connection has sufficient bandwidth to transmit the IPTV signal at the second signal quality, and that the second device is capable of receiving IPTV signal. The transmission of the IPTV signal over the first network connection to the first device is ended. An endpoint for the transmission of the IPTV signal to the first device is determined. The IPTV signal is transmitted over the second network connection to the second device at the second signal quality beginning at the determined endpoint.

The method includes: detecting whether an IPTV service system is accessible for a Set Top Box (STB) or not; and when the IPTV system is detected to be inaccessible for the STB, providing a video for the STB through a Content Delivery Network (CDN) subsystem. By the technical solution, the technical problems that the user cannot enjoy services such as the video service in case of upgrading, server failure or network failure in the related technology are solved, and live video service can still be provided for the user even though the service of the IPTV service system is inaccessible due to upgrading, server failure or network failure.

摘要： An embedded system for video processing comprises hardware means for realizing the following functions: i) a server function, wherein for realizing the server function the following functions are realized: i1) receiving of at least one image-, at least one audio-data stream; i2) compression of at least one of the image- and audio-data streams yielding in each case a combined data stream respectively; i3) output of at least one of the combined data streams via a protocol based network; ii) a client function, wherein for realizing the client function the following functions are realized: ii1) receiving of at least one combined data stream from the protocol based network; ii2) decompression of the at least one combined data stream; ii3) output of the combined decompressed image- and audio-data stream; iii) wherein the hardware means are designed in such a way that they compress and decompress a continuous combined data stream and iv) the hardware means for realizing the server function and the client function are arranged on a joint circuit board.

The memory may comprise computer program code, which, when run in the processor causes the electronic device to receive a first request to play first video content associated with a first video stream at the user interface, and in response to receiving the first request, pre-buffer data related to the first video stream; while pre-buffering this data and before playing the first video content at the user interface; display (at the user interface) a still image corresponding to a portion of the first video content in a first video tile at a first size; and re-size the first size to a second size such that a zooming-out effect of the displayed still image is provided.
