    Abstract: Techniques for optimizing messages in a telecommunications network are discussed herein. More particularly, an SMSF can be configured to refrain from sending deregistration and/or unsubscribe messages to a UDM in response to a handover from 5G to 4G, which can thereby reduce signaling in the network. Further, because of the suppressed messages, the network maintains SMSF session information, which indicates the delivery location for a SMS message. However, when a SMSC receives a SMS addressed to the UE, the HSS may query a UDR for SMSF session information, SMSF registration status, and/or AMF registration status. The HSS may determine a location for the SMS based on the active location of the UE, as determined by the AMF registration status. Thus, the techniques discussed herein represent network optimizations while allowing SMS messages to be correctly routed in a network.

    Abstract: A method may include receiving, from a volume meter at a pump configured to deliver medication to a patient, data indicative of a volume of a medication present in a syringe inserted in the pump. A first counter may be updated, based on the data, in response to the medication being delivered to the patient as a first dose type. A second counter may be updated, based on the data, in response to the medication being delivered to the patient as a second dose type. The volume of the medication delivered to the patient may be determined based on the first counter and/or the second counter. An electronic alert may be sent to a mobile device in response to one or more anomalies being present in the volume of the medication delivered to the patient. Related methods and articles of manufacture, including apparatuses and computer program products, are also disclosed.

    Abstract: A method and system that support re-establishing a dropped call or communication is disclosed. A terminal may publish its parameters to other terminals through in-band or out-of-band signaling. Token values may then be determined by a weighted sum of parameters, where the terminal having the largest weighted sum possesses the token. If the call or communication drops, the terminal possessing the token then initiates communication to the other terminals. In addition, a plurality of tokens may be used when there are more than two terminals in a call. The terminals may be partitioned into groups, where one of the terminals in each group possesses a token.

    Abstract: A communication method and device in a wireless communication system supporting edge computing is provided. A method of a UE including an EEC in a communication system supporting an edge computing service using an EDN exchanging application data traffic with the UE is provided, the method comprises identifying whether the UE supports a SMS over NAS, transmitting, to an ECS managing configuration information of the EDN, a first service provisioning request message including an indication of the SMS over the NAS supported in case that the UE supports the SMS over the NAS, and in case that the UE receives, through a network from the ECS, an SMS message including triggering information related to an update of the configuration information, transmitting, to the ECS, a second service provisioning request message based on the triggering information.

    Abstract: Methods and systems are provided herein for facilitating Rich Communication Services (RCS) error messaging in a non-RCS capable network. It is determined that a first device and a second device are communicating using encrypted RCS messaging in a terrestrial network. It is then determined that the second device has transitioned from the terrestrial network to a non-terrestrial network. A determination is made that the first device has sent an encrypted RCS message intended for the second device. Based on the second device transitioning to the non-terrestrial network that does not support the encrypted RCS messaging, an error message is communicated to the first device indicating that the encrypted RCS message cannot be received by the second device.
