摘要:
A method is specified for recognition of the start of a note in the case of percussion or plucked musical instruments, in the case of which an envelope curve following function is formed from an audio signal, a comparison variable is formed from a current value of the envelope curve following function and a predecessor value corresponding to an earlier value, and the start of a note is defined at a point in time at which the comparison value exceeds a threshold value.

A method for shifting the timbre and/or pitch of an input signal samples the input signal at a first rate and stores the samples in a memory buffer. A digital signal processor resamples the stored input signal at a rate that differs from the first rate at which the input note is originally sampled and stores the resampled input signal in a second memory buffer. A pitch shifter shifts the pitch of the input signal by periodically scaling the resampled input signal by a window function to create an output signal. The rate at which the resampled data is replicated by the window function determines the pitch of the output signal.

A tone synthesizer, for brass instruments, is equipped with a performance information input device such as a mouthpiece having a contact area sensor for detecting the contact area of the lips, a pressure sensor for detecting the push pressure of the lips, and an aperture sensor for detecting the opening surface of the lips. The tone synthesizer is also equipped with an apparatus indicating the strain of the lips, a tone generator, a blow pressure sensor, and a signal transmission apparatus.

A tone generator for an electronic musical instrument analyzes an original waveform signal to store results of analysis thereof into a memory. The results of the analysis read out from the memory is interpolated to generate results of the interpolation in synchronism with each sampling clock. The results of the analysis are corrected to cancel a frequency characteristic to be imparted to the results of the analysis when they are interpolated. The results of the analysis are stored into the memory after having been converted. In another form, a reading numerical value formed of an integer part and a decimal part is generated, in synchronism with a predetermined clock timing. The numerical value is variable at a rate proportional to the pitch of a musical tone to be produced. Residual waveform samples read from the memory based on the integer part are interpolated by the use of the decimal part in synchronism with a predetermined clock timing. Synthesized samples are generated based on the interpolated samples and predicted samples generated from the synthesized samples previously generated, for reproducing musical tones.

An electronic music system for computer-controlled interactive practicing and learning to play a guitar includes a transducer which is detachably securable to the guitar and generates analog signals representing the playing of the guitar, an interface for converting the analog signals to computer-processable digital signals, and a computer for receiving and processing the digital signals. The system uses a communication protocol which employs time stamping of data to permit use with ordinary guitars but without high speed frequency determination. The computer provides audio and video outputs including staff and guitar fingering representations of notes, chords, scales, compositions, and like musical structures, both to teach the user and suggest music to be played by the user and to illustrate what the user has played. The system is operable in several modes which may be controlled by the user by signals produced at the transducer.

A detecting device for detecting the positions where strings are operated, and an electronic musical instrument using the detecting device, such as an electronic stringed instrument or an electronic keyboard instrument, wherein each of frets, with which conductive strings are brought into contact, is formed of a two-layer structure of a conductive member and a resistance member provided on the conductive member. Voltage pulses are sequentially applied to either the conductive strings or the conductive members of the frets and a voltage pulse is detected from a conductive member or a string, thus detecting a position in which a string is stopped against the fret.

A guitar control system using multiple string processing channels for developing pitch and peak signals for a multiple of string vibrations. Pitch data is multiplexed into a microprocessor along with the peak data and the programmed microprocessor outputs processed sound information on an address/data buss. Midi input/output, analog input/output and counter circuitry are interactively connected with the data buss, and final audio processing is derived from the analog output.

Apparatus is disclosed whereby an electronic musical tone generator is controlled in response to a musical instrument using mechanically vibrated strings. A bank of digital note filters is associated with each string to find the closest true musical note frequency corresponding to the vibration frequency of the string. The filters operate by computing the autocorrelation function of the string's vibration waveshape and then performing a Fourier transform to obtain the identification of the closest true musical note. An efficient and simple implementation is disclosed for an analog-to-digital signal conversion, the computation of the autocorrelation, and the Fourier transform. Provision is made for introducing frequency changes corresponding to a pitch bend in the vibration frequencies of the string.

A guitar-like electronic musical instrument for use with a synthesizer (18) has a body (20) and a neck (22). The neck carries six pitch strings (40) which the player depresses onto conductive frets to determine the selected note. The body carries six trigger strings (50) which can be plucked or strummed to initiate or trigger the desired notes. Alternatively they can be triggered by six keys (70). The trigger strings (50) and pitch strings (40) are at an angle to each other. The three lower strings and the three higher strings can be triggered together by group trigger keys (300,302) and all six strings triggered by a master trigger key (204). If either of switches (200,202) are actuated, notes will be triggered automatically as soon as the pitch string is depressed onto the fret. Touching of the string is detected by an a.c. waveform superposed on a d.c. potential. Hall effect devices are used to sense triggering by the trigger strings (50) or keys (70). Each fret has eleven conductive sections so that sideways bending can be detected, and bend detection coils are embedded in the finger board for the same purpose. A vibrato arm (210) using a Hall effect device can be used to introduce a vibrato effect. A console (32) enables resetting of the note of each string, storing various set values for each string, transposition of the instrument as a whole and a `Capo` effect to be obtained. A pedal unit (30) allows some functions to be selectively operated during playing, such as variation in the decay rate, or sustaining of notes played while a hold pedal is depressed.

A pad for an electronic drum has a vibration responsive plate that is mounted on a cushion and has on its upper surface a relatively thin buffer pad, the plate having cushioning means on its outer edge between it and peripheral supporting structure, so that the feel of the drumhead is quite natural to the player and that vibrations from the frame or supporting structure are insulated from the plate, and that the plate vibrations are not adversely affected, the plate carrying a microphone or other sound pick-up means.
