    摘要: An integrated system and software package for creating and performing a musical score including a user interface that enables a user to enter and display the musical score, a database that stores a data structure which supports graphical symbols for musical characters in the musical score and performance generation data that is derived from the graphical symbols, a musical font that includes a numbering system that corresponds to the musical characters, a compiler that generates the performance generation data from the database, a performance generator that reads the performance generation data from the compiler and synchronizes the performance of the musical score, and a synthesizer that responds to commands from the performance generator and creates preassembled data for acoustical playback of the musical score that is output to a sound generation device. The synthesizer generates the data for acoustical playback from a proprietary library of digital sound samples.

    摘要: A cache memory is updated with audio samples in a manner which minimizes system bus bandwidth and cache size requirements. The end of a loop is used to truncate a normal cache request to exactly what is needed. A channel with a loopEnd in a request will be given higher priority in a two-stage priority scheme. The requested data is conformed by trimming to the minimum data block size of the bus, such a doubleword for a PCI bus. The audio data written into the cache can be shifted on a byte-wise basis, and unneeded bytes can be blocked and not written. Request data for which a bus request has been issued can be preempted by request data attaining a higher priority before a bus grant is received.

    摘要: A system and method for modifying a subportion of information contained in an audio, such as magnitude information, without substantially effecting the remaining information contained therein, such a phase information. An incoming audio signal is segmented into a sequence of overlapping windowed DFT representations, during an analysis step, and during a synthesis step the DFT representations are converted back to a time domain signal. Each of the DFT representations consists of a plurality of frequency components obtained during a period of time. Each of the frequency components is associated with a unique increment of the period. Subsequent to the analysis step, but before the synthesis step, the frequency components of the DFT representations are re-mapped so as to have a differing temporal relationship with respect to the increments of the period of time.

    摘要: A signal representation method and apparatus for digital audio provides high quality low cost resampling by transferring the difficult interpolative computations into front-end (off-line) preprocessing, thereby reducing the load on the tone generating synthesis processor. This allows nearly perfect arbitrary-ratio resampling of stored waveforms at a fraction of the cost of prior art resampling. It also allows elimination of the prior art polyphase coefficient table since the waveform reconstruction information is fully contained within the polynomials. This is especially advantageous for execution on general purpose multi-tasking media processors.
