摘要: An electronic music system for computer-controlled interactive practicing and learning to play a guitar includes a transducer which is detachably securable to the guitar and generates analog signals representing the playing of the guitar, an interface for converting the analog signals to computer-processable digital signals, and a computer for receiving and processing the digital signals. The system uses a communication protocol which employs time stamping of data to permit use with ordinary guitars but without high speed frequency determination. The computer provides audio and video outputs including staff and guitar fingering representations of notes, chords, scales, compositions, and like musical structures, both to teach the user and suggest music to be played by the user and to illustrate what the user has played. The system is operable in several modes which may be controlled by the user by signals produced at the transducer.

摘要: A transducer assembly for an electronic music system for use with a stringed instrument includes a plurality of transducers and a quick connect device for detachably securing the transducers to the stringed instrument without marring, defacing, or altering the stringed instrument. The transducers generate analog signals representing the sound generated by playing the instrument. An interface converts the analog signals to digital signals and a computer receives and processes the digital signals. The location of the transducer assembly relative to the strings of the instrument is adjustable.

摘要: A method of treating a nylon or other non-ferromagnetic musical instrument string so that its movement is detectable by a ferromagnetic pickup includes applying ferromagnetic material to a portion of the string when the string is mounted to an instrument. The preferred method is to paint the string with a fluid material comprising a suspension of nickel particles in a solvent, and permitting the solvent to evaporate to leave a residue of nickel particles on the string.

摘要: A computer-implemented process allows emergency plans to be easily and rapidly created for a plurality of different facilities. An emergency plan is provided in electronic form for each facility. Each emergency plan has a standardized format with a plurality of component parts. Each emergency plan has at least some component parts that are accessible by other facilities. An electronic network is provided which allows at least some of the facilities to electronically obtain the accessible component parts of the emergency plans of at least some of the other facilities. A user interface allows the emergency plan of a facility to electronically import into its emergency plan selected content of one or more component parts of the emergency plan of another facility using the electronic network. The electronic importing is facilitated via the use of the standardized format for the emergency plans.
