摘要: Systems and methods are provided for monitoring the effects of conductive dust deposits that compromise the ability of a trip unit to accurately detect AC current in a circuit interrupter. When a Rogowski coil is used as a current sensor in the circuit interrupter and the trip unit processes the output of the Rogowski coil using a printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) processing circuit, the DC component of the processing circuit output signal can be analyzed to determine whether any conductive dust has formed unintended electrical pathways on the PCBA and compromised the ability of the PCBA to accurately measure AC current in the circuit interrupter. It can be determined that such unintended electrical pathways have formed when the DC component of the processing circuit output either exceeds a predetermined threshold or has increased by a significant amount after opening of the separable contacts.

摘要: A method for predicting an acceleration of the degradation in capacity of an electrochemical device. The method includes obtaining point measurement data from a function linking a voltage across the terminals of the electrochemical device to a state of charge of the electrochemical device, and a measurement of the capacity of the electrochemical device, calculating the derivative of the function and identifying a peak in the variation of the derivative, due to an inflection in the variation of the function and characterizing a quantity representative of an anode capacity of the electrochemical device, estimating a width of the peak and comparing a combination of the peak width and the quantity representative of the anode capacity, to the measurement of the capacity of the electrochemical device, and if the combination is less than the capacity of the electrochemical device, predicting an acceleration of the degradation in capacity of the electrochemical device.

摘要: A system for monitoring and controlling a fluid flow network has a plurality of flow control valves, each operable manually by a removable key engageable with a valve spindle. The system includes a database that records the location of the valve and a turn profile for each valve in the network. A mobile communications device detachably mounted on the key transmits data to the database and receives data from the database, and includes orientation means with at least one of a gyroscope, an accelerometer, a compass, and a processor. The processor is controlled by a software program to (i) communicate with the central database and to receive characteristics for the valve at the transmitted position, (ii) receive signals from the orientation means and calculate the instantaneous rotational speed of the valve spindle and its amount of rotation, and (iii) control rotation of the valve spindle.
