Abstract: A method of verifying a user for transportation purposes is disclosed. The method may include using a communication apparatus to detect a face of the user. The method may include using the communication apparatus to instruct the user to perform a specific action, to validate that the specific action is performed by the user, to extract a frame from the specific action to use as an image, to obtain image parameters from the frame and to use the communication apparatus to send the image to a server for the server to determine whether the image is a genuine face by comparing the image parameters of the image with parameters in a database to obtain a comparison result and to use the comparison result to determine if the user should be verified.

Abstract: Systems and methods for authenticating a user in an authentication system using a computing device configured to capture authentication biometric identity information. The authentication biometric identify information captured during an authentication session. The authentication biometric identify information may comprise or be derived from one or more images of the user being authenticated. The authentication biometric identify information is compared to root identify biometric information. The root identify biometric information is captured from a trusted source, such as trusted devices located at trusted locations, such as a government entity, financial institution, or business. Identity verification may occur by comparing the trusted root identify biometric information to the biometric identify information captured during an authentication session. Liveness determination may also occur to verify the user is a live person. Liveness determination may include comparing two images of the user such that the two images are captured at different distances from the user.

Abstract: At least some embodiments described herein are directed to a machine vision method, which involves capturing both a two-dimensional (2D) image of an object to identify a barcode and determine 3D features, and a three-dimensional (3D) image of the environment. The 3D image data is examined for the presence of the 3D object features. If a feature is missing, a digital fault detection signal is provided. If a feature is present, at least one parameter of the machine vision system is adjusted. The method also includes decoding the barcode and determining the object's orientation based on the barcode location in the 2D image.

Abstract: A face detection method to be implemented by a camera and a server that are communicably connected to each other includes the steps of: acquiring a captured video captured by the camera; detecting a face of one or more persons based on the captured video; generating one or more face cut-out images by cutting out a region of the detected face; counting a number of detection times that a person who is the same as or similar to a person in the face cut-out image is detected in a predetermined detection period; determining a category of the person based on the number of detection times; and outputting the face cut-out image corresponding to the person, the number of detection times corresponding to the person, and the category corresponding to the person in association with each other.

Abstract: A portable electronic device and an operation method are provided. The portable electronic device includes a body, a screen, a camera, an image sensor and a main system. The image sensor continually captures a first image outside the body with a first resolution and a first power consumption. The camera is turned on in the first state of the portable electronic device by the main system to capture a second image outside the body with a second power consumption and a second resolution only when the face image information appeared for over two seconds on the screen is detected by the image sensor from the first image. The second resolution is higher than the first resolution, and the second power consumption is higher than the first power consumption.
