摘要: An apparatus for positioning and retaining a Rogowski coil around a conductor includes a first member configured to receive a first section of the Rogowski coil, a second member configured to receive a second section of the Rogowski coil, and a non-conductive securing structure configured to engage the conductor and retain the first member and the second member in fixed positions relative to the conductor. According to one exemplary embodiment, the apparatus may also include a coupling mechanism configured to permit at least one of the first member and the second member to be moved relative to each other and positioned around the conductor. According to another exemplary embodiment, the securing structure may include a pair of arched elements, wherein each arched element is configured to engage the conductor and retain a corresponding one of the first and second members in a respective fixed position relative to the conductor.

摘要: A method and apparatus for sending current. A flow of current can be passed through a portion of the sensor, such that the sensor forms part of the current flow circuit. The sensor can be especially useful in high vacuum environments and/or in areas where a small sensor is desired. In one embodiment, the current sensor can form part of a ground circuit and a leg of the sensor can comprise a leg of the drive circuit. A current sensing loop of the sensor can at least partially encircle a portion of the sensor itself such that the current sensing loop senses current flowing through the sensor.

摘要: Systems and methods for sensing current provide a Rogowski coil type current sensor for a current flow monitoring device in which the coil windings are formed by electrically conductive traces on a printed circuit board (PCB) substrate. Each coil winding is composed of two or more elongate traces formed on a PCB substrate and extending radially outward from a central opening or hole in the PCB substrate. Each trace coil winding is connected to electrically conductive vias, one via at each end of the trace. The via at one end connects the trace to another trace in coil winding, while the via at the other end connects the trace to a different trace in the same coil winding or an adjacent coil winding. The result is a conductive helix encircling the central opening in the PCB substrate that electrically resembles a Rogowski coil.

摘要: A method and an electric circuit arrangement for determining a branch insulation resistance and a branch leakage capacitance of a line branch to be monitored in a branched, ungrounded power supply system having active conductors and a measuring voltage fed centrally by a controllable measuring voltage source and a residual current caused by the measuring voltage being registered using a current sensor in the line branch to be monitored. The centrally supplied measuring voltage is formed over a generator period having a characteristic signal form defined via the frequency composition. By this (frequency) modulation of the measuring voltage, information is transmitted from the central feed location of the measuring voltage to the current sensor disposed in the line branch to be monitored. Based on this information, the current sensor can establish with which resistance value the coupling circuit feeds the measuring voltage in the corresponding generator period, without another communication channel being required.

摘要: A rate of change of current sensor includes two measurement coils, arranged such that the turns of the first and second measurement coils are interleaved. The rate of change of current sensor further comprises two return coils, arranged to progress in an opposite direction to the measurement coils. The coils form loops and progress substantially around a target measurement conductor. This ensures that the two measurement coils both receive the same electrostatic coupling from external conductors which are not the target of the measurement operation. Further, the two measurement coils are arranged such that the first coil and the second coil are, on average, the same distance to the current-carrying conductor of interest.
