    摘要: An adjustment device for hydraulic brake systems includes a hollow case and a retractable unit. The hollow case has a rotatable ring to control the retractable unit. One end of the hollow case is connected to a hydraulic hose, and another end is connected to a brake lever. When the user adjusts the rotatable ring, the retractable unit exerts one adjustable pressure on the hydraulic oil constantly so that the user can easily press the brake lever to slow down the vehicles.

    摘要: A locking mechanism for installing between a master cylinder and a brake line includes a housing having an internal bore, an inlet port, a passage, and an outlet port. A reciprocating piston is movable within the bore. A locking lever is coupled to the reciprocating piston for actuating the reciprocating piston. A fastener having an internal fluid passage for providing fluid communication between the passage and the master cylinder secures the housing to the master cylinder. The locking lever is moveable between a first position, wherein the hydraulic fluid can flow freely between the master cylinder and the brake line for engaging and disengaging the vehicle brake and a second position, wherein the hydraulic fluid is prevented from returning to the master cylinder for maintaining the vehicle brake in an engaged state.

    摘要: A hydraulic operating unit for the friction engaging apparatus of a transmission provides a hydraulic operating unit which permits the introduction of a low-pressure working fluid to permit the forceable disengagement of the hydraulic operation unit to work against the fluid which would normally urge the unit into engagement. The effective pressure-receiving area on the releasing side of a hydraulic power servo mechanism is made sufficiently large with respect to the effective pressure-receiving area on the engaging side of the servo mechanism while the piston diameter is kept small in order to save space in the construction of the servo mechanism while at the same time permitting the device to effectively disengage the friction mechanism.

    摘要: A master cylinder employed in connection with a fluid actuated motor vehicle clutch system. The master cylinder includes an internal reservoir formed by a portion of the same cylindrical housing which makes up the clutch actuating working chamber. A plug is provided within the cylindrical housing to divide the housing into two sections, a working chamber and a reservoir chamber. The plug further includes a check valve system which permits fluid to flow into and out of the working chamber from the reservoir as the fluid capacity of the associated hydraulic circuit changes. Flow into and out of the reservoir is permitted to occur only when an externally applied load to the master cylinder is released. The reservoir chamber includes a slidable piston and a low spring constant helical spring which biases the reservoir plunger to provide a slight hydrostatic pressure for the fluid contained by the reservoir, thereby preventing the ingestion of air or contaminants. In an embodiment of the invention, the fluid in the reservoir chamber may be initially pressurized to a greater than atmospheric pressure so as to give a small degree of boost to the system. This design configuration eliminates the requirement of providing an externally mounted reservoir or a reservoir which is mounted above the working chamber such that fluid therein is gravity fed into the working chamber. This design also permits the use of manufacturing techniques such as deep drawing of metal to construct the entire master cylinder and reservoir from a single tube structure.

    摘要: A brake system for an off-highway vehicle which includes a fluid pressure actuated multi-disc brake and a fluid pressure control system. Engagement of the multi-disc brake is effected by a fluid operated piston having multiple effective pressure areas. Fluid pressure applied to a certain of the effective pressure areas urges the piston in a brake applying direction; fluid pressure applied to the other of the pressure areas urges the piston in a brake releasing direction. The fluid pressure control system controls the communication of pressurized fluid to the effective pressure areas to provide both the brake applying and brake releasing functions. Redundant fluid pressure circuits supply pressurized fluid to the brake applying effective pressure areas. In the event of failure, the control system is operative to interrupt fluid flow to the failed circuit.

    摘要: The transmission illustrated includes a central support or web member having annular chambers formed in both end faces thereof, with an annular piston mounted in each chamber and a spring retainer plate mounted adjacent the outer edge of each chamber. Once assembled, the spring retainer plate is self-locking in that a conically shaped outer surface formed on a plurality of tabs located around the outer periphery of each of the spring retainers is urged into contact with respective oppositely disposed conical recesses formed just inside the web end faces by a spring which also urges the piston away from the retainer plate and into the chamber. The retainer plate is mounted in place by first inserting one or more of its ear portions within the conical recess and then bowing the retainer plate to insert the remaining ear portions therein. A cylindrical extension formed on the annular piston extends through the central opening of the retainer plate to selectively engage the adjacent clutch or brake plates.
