    Abstract: During an operation of applying a parking brake, when sufficient brake clamping force is applied by a brake actuator, a parking lock actuator having a pin is energized to cause the pin to be moved toward a strut so that the strut is engaged with one of notches of a rotatable part operably connected with the brake actuator in order to prevent rotation of the rotatable part in one direction of releasing the brake and to allow rotation of the rotatable part in the other direction of applying the brake, and then the parking lock actuator is de-energized and the pin is moved away from the strut. During an operation of releasing the parking brake, the brake actuator rotates the rotatable part in the brake apply direction to disengage the strut from the notch, and then releases the brake.

    Abstract: A brake caliper has a fixed seat. The fixed seat has a first brake lining and a second brake lining. The fixed seat further has a first piston and a second piston that can be pushed by hydraulic oil. A movable seat is slidably disposed on the fixed seat. The movable seat has a link portion that can link the first brake lining and a drive unit that can push the second piston mechanically. The first piston and the second piston can be pushed hydraulically to drive the first brake lining and the second brake lining for braking. The drive unit pushes the second piston to drive the second brake lining, and pushes the movable seat to drive the first brake lining for braking.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods including an electromechanical brake used downhole to impart dynamic or static braking capabilities while absorbing or otherwise reducing shock loads. The electromechanical brake may be used for a downhole electromechanical linear actuator to control a valve for the production of subterranean fluid. In some examples, it may be desirable for an electromechanical linear actuator to maintain a retracted position during certain safety and/or maintenance operations. The electromechanical brake includes a brake housing, a first armature rotatably disposed in the brake housing, a second armature rotatably disposed in the brake housing for rotation by a motor, an electrical coil energizable to urge the second armature into axial engagement with the first armature, and a rotational spring for biasing the first armature to a neutral rotational position relative to the brake housing while allowing a limited rotation of the first armature relative to the brake housing.

    Abstract: A brake includes a rotor rotatably coupled to a rotating body for rotation about a rotational axis. A brake plate and an armature are disposed on opposite sides of the rotor. A spring and an electromagnet urge the armature in opposite directions into and out of engagement with the rotor to move the rotor into and out of engagement with the brake plate and engage and disengage the brake. The brake plate and electromagnet each define a central bore configured to receive the rotating body. The brake is characterized by a target supported on a radially extending face of the rotating body or the rotor and a sensor aligned with the target through the central bore of the brake plate or the electromagnet. The sensor generates, responsive to the target, position signals indicative of a rotational position of the rotor and rotating body.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a restoring device (1) for restoring a brake pad of a motor vehicle disc brake, and to a motor vehicle disc brake which comprises a restoring device of this type.
    The restoring device (1) comprises a wear compensation means (2) and a tension arrangement (7) for generating a restoring force, having a bearing region (10) for support on a brake carrier of the motor vehicle disc brake, and a coupling section (8), the bearing region (10) defining a bearing plane (AE) by way of a bearing contact (11) which, when the tension arrangement (7) bears against the brake carrier, comes into contact with the latter. Furthermore, the restoring device (1) comprises a coupling device (4), by way of which the wear compensation means and the tension arrangement (7) are coupled to one another or can be coupled to one another in such a way that, in the coupled state of the wear compensation means (2) and the tension arrangement (7), it permits a perpendicular orientation of the wear compensation axis (VA) with respect to the bearing plane (AE) and an orientation of the wear compensation axis (VA) which differs from the perpendicular orientation and is inclined within a pivot angle range (a) towards the bearing plane (AE) in every extent direction of the bearing plane (AE).

    Abstract: Disclosed is an electronic parking brake system including an electronic parking brake provided to provide a clamping force necessary for parking a vehicle by a motor, a warning unit provided to warn a failure of the electronic parking brake, a current sensor provided to detect a current of the motor, and a controller electrically connected to the current sensor, wherein the controller determines whether a clamping force is generated depending on the motor current in a parking operation, counts a clamping force non-generation time when the clamping force is not generated, and warns a suspected failure of the electronic parking brake through the warning unit when the clamping force non-generation time elapses a preliminary failure detection time set shorter than a failure detection time of the electronic parking brake.

    Abstract: An electromechanical brake system includes: a pair of pad plates to which a brake pad is attached, respectively, to press a disc that rotates with a wheel; a carrier on which the pair of pad plates are installed; a caliper housing slidably installed on the carrier; a piston movably installed in forward and backward direction inside the caliper housing; a power transfer part configured to press the pair of pad plates onto the disc by moving the piston; a brake actuator including a drive motor configured to provide a rotational force of the drive motor to the piston, and a reduction gear part configured to decelerate the rotational force of the drive motor and transmit the decelerated rotational force to the power transfer part; a parking actuator connected to the brake actuator to maintain a parking braking state of a vehicle; a force sensor configured to detect a clamping force due to a contact between the disc and the brake pad; and a controller configured to control the brake actuator and the parking actuator, wherein the controller is configured to control the parking actuator based on the clamping force detected through the force sensor.

    Abstract: An electromechanical brake may include a gear configured to provide power for braking when rotating in one direction and to provide power for releasing a braking state when rotating in the other direction, and having one or more grooves; a detent housing; a detent pivotably coupled to the detent housing to pivot between a first position and a second position, wherein the detent does not limit the rotation of the gear at the first position and the detent is engaged with the groove to limit the rotation of the gear at the second position; an actuator configured to cause the detent to be pivoted from the first position to the second position; and an elastic member configured to press the detent in a direction from the second position toward the first position.
