Abstract: An electromagnetic switchable clutch includes a dog clutch, a one-way clutch and a coil assembly. The dog clutch includes a dog clutch hub with a first outer spline and first pockets, a dog clutch disc with a second outer spline and a dog clutch sleeve with an inner spline, complementary to the first outer spline and the second outer spline. The inner spline is drivingly engaged with the first outer spline and axially displaceable to engage the second outer spline. The one-way clutch includes a cam ring and pawls. The cam ring includes second pockets. The pawls are disposed the first pockets or the second pockets and arranged to engage the other of the first pockets or the second pockets to rotationally lock the cam ring to the dog clutch hub in a single rotational direction. The coil assembly is arranged to axially displace the dog clutch sleeve.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods including an electromechanical brake used downhole to impart dynamic or static braking capabilities while absorbing or otherwise reducing shock loads. The electromechanical brake may be used for a downhole electromechanical linear actuator to control a valve for the production of subterranean fluid. In some examples, it may be desirable for an electromechanical linear actuator to maintain a retracted position during certain safety and/or maintenance operations. The electromechanical brake includes a brake housing, a first armature rotatably disposed in the brake housing, a second armature rotatably disposed in the brake housing for rotation by a motor, an electrical coil energizable to urge the second armature into axial engagement with the first armature, and a rotational spring for biasing the first armature to a neutral rotational position relative to the brake housing while allowing a limited rotation of the first armature relative to the brake housing.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a disc brake having an electromechanical actuator for vehicles, in particular for utility vehicles, comprising a brake disc, a brake carrier and a brake caliper of a vehicle for applying the brake disc by means of brake linings. Current tests have shown that the tappet after assembly is not fixed correctly in a housing of the electromechanical actuator. The tappet may after positioning fall out of the rotary lever, which results in the force transmission for applying the brake disc being interrupted and the brake disc not being able to be applied. An object of the present disclosure is to overcome the problems from the prior art and to provide a disc brake with an electromechanical actuator which reduces or even prevents damage to the tappet, the cam disc and the housing of the electromechanical actuator.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for braking mecanum or omnidirectional wheels, by applying force to the rollers of a mecanum or omnidirectional wheel to prevent them from rolling when in contact with the ground or the floor. In some embodiments, it engages the rollers with teeth, rods, or wedges to generate friction and prevent them from rotating. The teeth, rods, or wedges rotate with the mecanum or omnidirectional wheel on the same axle, so the force can be applied and the rollers braked whether the wheel is rotating or not. In some embodiments, the force is applied using a servo or motor to push a thrust bearing, which then engages the rollers. In some embodiments, the servo or motor applies force using one or more gear racks, levers, cam wheels, or mechanical linkages.

Abstract: A toothed safe braking apparatus for use in robotic joint, comprising an electromagnetic telescoping apparatus (6) and a friction engagement component (10). On a locked position, a working bit (17) of the electromagnetic telescoping apparatus (6) can be engaged with the teeth (11) on the brake lock ring gear (1) of the friction engagement component (10); and, on an unlocked position, the working bit (17) of the electromagnetic telescoping apparatus (6) can be disengaged from the teeth (11) on the brake lock ring gear (1) of the friction engagement component (10). The brake lock ring gear (1) and the pretension ring (2) are arranged in parallel via the first fitting hole (12) and the second fitting hole (13) to be friction engaged on the outer circumferential surface (16) of the brake hub (4).
