Abstract: An actuator may include: a first gear configured to rotate by a motor; a second gear operably connected to the first gear and configured to convert a rotary movement of the first gear into a linear movement; and a footer configured to move linearly together with the second gear to move a back plate of a brake pad. A stopper protrusion may be provided at one end portion of the first gear, the footer may have a stopper groove having a shape of a substantially circular arc or a partial circle such that the stopper protrusion rotating together with the first gear can be inserted in the stopper groove, and as the footer becomes closer to the one end portion of the first gear, the stopper protrusion may be inserted into the stopper groove to prevent the first gear from rotating.

Abstract: The present disk brake includes a braking force holding mechanism configured to restrict a rotation of a rotational shaft (a ratchet gear) to hold a braking force based on driving of a solenoid actuator. The braking force holding mechanism includes a holding member configured to move based on the driving of the solenoid actuator to restrict the rotation of the ratchet gear, and an engagement member coupled with this holding member. The engagement member is rotatably supported on a gear housing portion, and is configured to prohibit a movement of the holding member. Due to this configuration, an excitation force applied from outside to the holding member can be canceled out with the aid of the engagement member, and thus the disk brake can realize a size reduction and achieve cost saving.

Abstract: Provided is an electric brake device including one caliper including at least two electric mechanisms each configured to apply a braking force to a vehicle and to maintain the braking force. The at least two electric mechanisms are to be driven by one drive circuit output, that is, one output from one drive circuit. In this manner, for example, even when it is required to control a large number of electric mechanisms as in a case in which the electric brake device is applied to a twin-bore caliper, the number of drive circuits for driving the electric mechanisms can be reduced, thereby being capable of reducing cost.

Abstract: A brake actuator is configured to perform either a braking operation, or an auto-adjustment operation of an air gap between an actuator output shaft and a brake stack. The brake actuator includes a conjugate ramp track containing a bearing ball, the conjugate ramp track being formed by matching ball ramp tracks of an input ball ramp and an output ball ramp. The output ball ramp is connected to the output shaft by a threaded interface to move the output shaft by rotation of the input ball ramp. The conjugate ramp track is a multi-angle ball ramp track thereby including areas of different gain. The input ball ramp is rotated in a first direction to perform the braking operation, and the input ball ramp is rotated in a second, opposite direction to perform the auto-adjustment operation. During the auto-adjustment operation, a position of the output shaft is automatically adjusted when the air gap has a dimension that is larger than an operable dimension to adjust the air gap to be within the operable dimension.

Abstract: A vehicle drum brake includes a drum (3) having an inner friction surface (21) formed circumferentially, a brake carrier (5) that can move in rotation relative to the drum (3) about a drum axis (X), and a brake lining assembly (7) arranged on the brake carrier (5). The drum brake (1) has an actuating ring (13) displaceable along the drum axis (X) and rotatable about the drum axis (X), and a displacement surface arrangement (30), which is operatively connected to the lining carriers (11). The displacement surface arrangement (30) is shaped such that both the axial displacement and the rotary movement of the actuating ring (13) bring about a respective synchronous radial movement of all the lining carriers (11).
