Abstract: A brake actuator unit having a brake housing, a spindle, and an axial spindle bearing, which receives the spindle and absorbs the axial reaction forces of the spindle when the brake is applied. The brake housing has a brake calliper having a pad support portion and a pot-shaped brake piston bearing portion, which is integrally connected to the pad support portion and has a circumferential wall and a bottom. When the brake is operated, the spindle bearing is supported axially on the bottom, and the circumferential wall has a sliding guide face against which the brake piston bears. An electromechanical brake having such a brake actuator unit is also provided.

Abstract: An actuator sub-assembly for an electromotive vehicle brake is set out, having a brake calliper, in which an intermediate space for receiving a brake rotor is provided. A spindle drive is also provided, which has a sliding actuation member for applying a brake pad to the brake rotor. The sub-assembly also includes an electro-motively driven spindle for axially moving the sliding actuation member, an electric motor which is drivingly coupled to the spindle by a gear mechanism unit, and a housing, in which the gear mechanism unit is accommodated. A plate-like frame portion, which has a receiving space for at least one gear stage of the gear mechanism unit is also arranged in the housing. Starting from the frame portion, at least one web-like continuation extends in the direction towards the brake calliper and is secured to the brake calliper.

Abstract: Provided is an electric brake including: a brake mechanism configured to transmit, based on a braking request, a thrust force generated through drive of an electric motor to a piston configured to move brake pads to be pressed against a disc rotor; and an ECU for rear electric brake configured to control the drive of the electric motor, and to move, in a non-braking state, the piston to a predetermined clearance position at which a clearance between each of the brake pads and the disc rotor is a predetermined amount. The ECU for rear electric brake is configured to drive the electric motor so that a period from generation of the braking request to a start of the pressing of the disc rotor by the brake pads is a predetermined period regardless of a position of the piston at a time when the braking request is generated.

Abstract: The invention relates to an electro-mechanical brake with an actuator (5) for pressing at least one brake pad (3, 4) against a rotating friction surface. The actuator (5) comprises an electric motor (7) and a first transmission for converting a rotary motion of the electric motor (7) into a translational motion of the at least one brake pad (3, 4) for activating or releasing the electromechanical brake. Furthermore, the actuator (5) comprises a second transmission for converting a rotary motion of the same electric motor (7) into a further translational motion of the at least one brake pad (3, 4) to compensate for a wear of the at least one brake pad (3, 4), the first transmission and the second transmission being coupled so that the translational motion of the at least one brake pad (3, 4) caused by the first transmission and the further translational motion of the at least one brake pad (3, 4) caused by the second transmission add up to a resulting translation of the at least one brake pad (3, 4).

Abstract: A disc brake including a planetary gear speed reduction mechanism that improves the meshing condition of gears at activation. A sun gear (84) of a planetary gear speed reduction mechanism (55) employed in the disc brake includes a cylindrical supporting portion (112) configured to rotatably support a sun gear (82), an annular wall portion (111) disposed to face a large gear (88) at predetermined distance away in the axial direction of the large gear, and a reaction force receiving portion (114) disposed to overlap with the large gear as viewed from the radial direction of the large gear and configured to receive a reaction force produced by rotation of the sun gear (82). This improves the meshing condition of the planetary gear speed reduction mechanism and represses negative influences on performance, strength, operation noises and the like associated with transmission of rotation torque.

A processor calculates an absolute angular position of the pinion in a full-turn range of rotation of the pinion based on the sensed rotor angle of the motor and a pinion angle sensed by a pinion angle sensor in a single-turn range, or based on the sensed rotor angle of the motor and an angle of the rotor of the rotary-to-linear conversion mechanism sensed by an angular position sensor in the single-turn range.
