Abstract: A brake apparatus for a vehicle may include: a first driver and a second driver each configured to generate a driving force; a transfer gear part rotated by the driving force received from the first driver; a piston part configured to press or release a pad part according to the direction in which the piston part is moved forward or backward; a parking gear part rotated with the transfer gear part; a constraint part moved forward or backward by the driving force of the second driver, and configured to constrain the rotation of the parking gear part by being moved to one side during parking braking; and a locking part configured to transfer the driving force, generated by the second driver, to the constraint part, and to restrict the constraint part from moving to the other side during parking braking.

Abstract: A robot joint is connectable to at least another robot joint via an output flange. The robot joint includes a joint motor having a motor axle configured to rotate the output flange. The robot joint includes a brake assembly having an annular brake member that is rotatable and a resilient member arranged on the motor axle. The annular brake member and the resilient member are arranged between a first locking member and a positionable locking member, where the positionable locking member can be fixed at a plurality of positions along and at the motor axle. An engagement member is movable between an engaging position and a non-engaging position, where in the engaging position the engagement member engages with the annular brake member and prevents rotation of the annular brake member around the motor axis. The annular may include brake protrusion that includes two slats forming a triangular-like shape.

Abstract: A coupling and control assembly includes first and second rotatable coupling members. The first coupling member has a first coupling face with locking formations, and the second coupling member has a second coupling face with pockets and in opposition with the first coupling face of the first coupling member and a third face spaced from the second coupling face and with passages communicating with the pockets. Locking members in the pockets transmit torque between the first and second coupling members. A stator includes an electromagnetic source, and a translator is translatable, rotatable, and coupled to the second coupling member to be rotatable therewith. The translator may include springs in the passages to actuate the plurality of locking members, or a permanent magnetic source cooperative with the electromagnetic source to translate the translator. An apertured retainer plate may be coupled to the second coupling member to facilitate pivoting of the plurality of locking members.

Abstract: A vehicle steering system comprises: a motor assembly operably coupled to a steering rack, the motor assembly comprising a motor having a rotor and a motor position sensor configured to sense a rotor angle of the motor in a single-turn range; and a rotary-to-linear conversion mechanism operably coupled between the motor assembly and the steering rack, the rotary-to-linear conversion mechanism comprising a rotor operably coupled to the rotor of the motor. A processor calculates an absolute angular position of the pinion in a full-turn range of rotation of the pinion based on the sensed rotor angle of the motor and a pinion angle sensed by a pinion angle sensor in a single-turn range, or based on the sensed rotor angle of the motor and an angle of the rotor of the rotary-to-linear conversion mechanism sensed by an angular position sensor in the single-turn range.

Abstract: An electro-dynamic coupling and control assembly and a switchable linear actuator device are provided. The assembly has first and second coupling members each of which is supported for rotation about a common rotational axis and at least one locking member for selectively mechanically coupling the coupling members together. The device includes a stator structure including at least one electromagnetic source and a translator structure configured to be coupled to the second coupling member to rotate therewith. The translator structure includes at least one plunger which is elastically deformable in an axial direction to provide the device with compliance. Each plunger has a free end portion configured to move within a passage to engage and actuate a locking member within a pocket in the second coupling member.

Abstract: A return stop selectively locks a rotatable inner ring to a stationary outer ring. A cage supports at least two roller pairs, each of which consists of two rollers, wherein a spring element spring-loads the two rollers against the outer ring. Each spring element is a double spring having two spring sections and a connecting section connecting the two spring sections to each other and to the cage. In response to rotation of the cage relative to the inner ring, one roller of each roller pair comes to bear against a ramp of the inner ring and the outer ring. The cage has a driver element at one end face which protrudes axially into the inner ring and can be connected to a contoured section on the inner ring in order to produce positive-locking attachment.

Abstract: A yaw system for a wind turbine can have a yaw bearing with an outer bearing ring, an inner bearing ring, and a plurality of yaw rollers rotationally disposed between the outer and inner bearing rings so as to allow relative motion between the outer and inner bearing rings. A bi-directional braking assembly having an outer clutch ring attached to the outer bearing ring, an inner clutch ring attached to the inner bearing ring, and a plurality of brake rollers rotationally and slidably disposed between the inner clutch ring and at least one locking ramp adjacent the outer clutch ring. A plurality of spring members can extend from either ring projections or activation projections to each brake roller. An activation ring can slidably position the plurality of brake rollers into one of a locked position or unlocked position to prevent yaw rotation in an undesired direction.
