Abstract: A brake apparatus for a vehicle may include: a pad unit disposed to face a disc unit; a first caliper body unit fixed to a vehicle body and configured to support the pad unit so that the pad unit is movable; a first pressing unit installed on the first caliper body unit so as to be movable forward or rearward and configured to press the pad unit to apply a main braking force; a second caliper body unit slidably installed on the first caliper body unit; and a second pressing unit installed on the first caliper body unit so as to be movable forward or rearward and configured to press the pad unit to apply a parking braking force together with the second caliper body unit.

Abstract: Provided is an electric brake including: a brake mechanism configured to transmit, based on a braking request, a thrust force generated through drive of an electric motor to a piston configured to move brake pads to be pressed against a disc rotor; and an ECU for rear electric brake configured to control the drive of the electric motor, and to move, in a non-braking state, the piston to a predetermined clearance position at which a clearance between each of the brake pads and the disc rotor is a predetermined amount. The ECU for rear electric brake is configured to drive the electric motor so that a period from generation of the braking request to a start of the pressing of the disc rotor by the brake pads is a predetermined period regardless of a position of the piston at a time when the braking request is generated.

Abstract: A disk brake allowing a connector terminal (255) and a joining terminal (256) to be easily positioned in a width direction thereof and a direction toward an opening portion of a housing, because the joining terminal fixed to one end of a harness includes individual protruding portions (265) and a pair of biasing portions (264). Further, due to each of the biasing portions, the connector terminal and the joining terminal can be brought into close contact with each other. Further, due to the protruding portions of the joining terminal, an end (258A) of the connector terminal and an end (268A) of a contact surface portion (263) can be brought into alignment with each other, which facilitates formation of such a welded portion (266) that extends over the respective ends, and thus achieves a secure connection between the connector terminal and the joining terminal.
