摘要: A method of forming a composite link fitting including joining two opposed bearing supports with an inner laminate core having a longitudinal axis extending there between. Each bearing support including a bearing bore formed as an aperture, a first stepped portion, a separate second stepped portion and a recess formed therein. The recess extending toward the bearing bore between an extent of the first and second stepped portions to a recess bottom. The inner laminate core including a central elongate layer, a first outer layer and a second outer layer, with the first and second outer layers disposed on opposed first and second sides of the central elongate layer. First and second ends of the central elongate layer disposed within respective recesses. Also, the method including wrapping an outer band around the two bearing supports and the inner laminate core to form the composite link fitting.

摘要: A guide and method for use in coating of an elongated band with liquid material prior to its attachment to a substrate. The guide supports the band in a tilted orientation relative to a dispensing outlet of a liquid dispenser. The liquid dispenser dispenses a continuous bead or filament of adhesive that wraps around the band to coat the band while it is separate from the substrate. The coated band is thereafter bonded to the substrate.

摘要: A method of manufacturing a laminate particularly adapted for bedding, padding upholstering and like applications by feeding an indeterminate length of a first material along a predetermined first path of travel from a source of the first material to a downstream assembly area. Feeding an indeterminate length of second material along a predetermined second path of travel from a source of the second material to the downstream assembly area. Depositing a multiplicity of substantially yieldable cushioning materials upon an upper surface of one of the first and second indeterminate lengths of material during the feeding thereof between the respective sources and the assembly area. Thereafter, sandwiching the cushioning materials between the indeterminate lengths of first and second materials to form a laminate therefrom, and rolling the laminate into a roll. The cushioning materials are foam latex and/or down and the first and second lengths of material are polyester fiber material and/or convoluted foam.

摘要: A process and apparatus for processing flat workpieces, in particular for carrying out operations between fabric pieces in superposed relationship, feeding the workpieces to a continuously operating workstation by pre-conveyors that cooperate with subsequent conveyors. The pre-conveyor and each subsequent conveyor are so arranged that, upon starting the pre-conveyor with a workpiece on its conveyor path, the conveyor path of the pre-conveyor is extended over the conveyor path of the subsequent conveyor to such an extent that the workpiece can be moved over the conveyor path of the subsequent conveyor. When that position is adopted, the conveyor belt of the pre-conveyor is stopped and the workpiece is deposited on the conveyor belt of the subsequent conveyor by shortening the path of the pre-conveyor.

摘要: The present invention utilizes a controlled pressure application system to insure that the proper pressure is applied in a lamination of permeable and semi-permeable roll mounted sheets into a cellular sheet structure. The present invention uses a pressure roller mounted on a carriage which is movable horizontally radially of a heated roll by a controllable linear actuator such that variable and closely controlled pressure may be applied to a web passing between the heated roll and the carriage mounted pressure roller. Additionally, the present invention uses a precisely controllable fluid heated pressure roller and a precisely controllable fluid cooled cooling roller acting as a heat sink for the pressure roller to maintain a precise temperature gradient across the web at the nip. In addition to controlling temperature and pressure on the web, the present invention further controls tension on the web to prevent polymer dissipation, and controls speed of the web such that pressure and temperature dwell time are precisely controlled. Furthermore all of the parameters of operation of the apparatus are electronically recorded for future use.

摘要: Selected objects such as scallops, are automatically secured in spaced apart bottom-to-bottom relation to elongated strips for subsequent suspension in sea water for a final grow-out period. Linear arrays of these objects, to which adhesive has been applied, are brought into bottom-to-bottom contact with the strip and held there until bonds have formed, following which the strip with attached objects is released from the machine and the procedure is thereafter automatically repeated.

摘要: The process relates to the production of a product consisting of a substrate to which an adhesive with long-term effect and a protective band are attached to permit use of the adhesive to be deferred. The process is characterized by the use of a substrate whose surface to which the adhesive is attached may present irregularities. The adhesive is heated to a temperature at which is becomes paste-like and almost liquid, and is brought to an opening situated above a plane surface on which the substrate has been placed. The adhesive is then caused to flow simultaneously with a relative movement between the substrate and the opening. This results in the adhesive being deposited on the substrate as a strand that is preferably continuous. The temperature of the adhesive is then lowered in order to increase its viscosity until it becomes paste-like to the point of turning solid. Pressure is thereafter applied to the paste, like adhesive, preferably with the imposition of a protective strip, in order to cause spreading of and to cover the strand along its full length. Finally, the resultant product may be cut to produce a substrate having an adhesive strip thereon and a detachable protection band covering the adhesive strip.
