    摘要: The coating film transfer tool includes a feeding portion that feeds tape with a coating film, a transfer head that transfers the coating film from the tape onto a transfer target surface, a cassette to which the transfer head is fixed, and a head cap. Shaft portions are provided on either the head cap or the transfer head/cassette, and shaft bearing holes are provided on the other one. Due to relative rotation of the shaft portions, the head cap rotates between a closed position for covering the transfer head and an open position for exposing the transfer head. The distances from the rotation axis to the shaft portion and to the shaft bearing hole change along the circumferential direction. The head cap is biased toward the closed position when located on the closed position side, and is biased toward the open position when located on the open position side.

    摘要: A ribbon self-orienting device that is to be interposed between the source and the target of a traveling ribbon, either during winding of a ribbon into a traversed roll or during pay-off of a ribbon from a traversed roll. A pivoting frame is pivotally coupled to a frame support, at a pivot axis. First and second direction changing means coupled to the pivoting frame serve to change the direction of the traveling ribbon. A force transfer means transfers a transversely directed force, imparted by the traveling ribbon due to the ribbon traversing its traversed roll while under tension, to the pivoting frame causing the pivoting frame to move about the pivot axis. Other embodiments are also described.

    摘要: A mandrel suitable for supporting and unwinding a convolutely wound web material is disclosed. The mandrel has a mandrel shaft with a longitudinal axis, a plurality of mandrel arms extending from the mandrel shaft, and at least one expansion element disposed upon a respective each of the mandrel arms. The mandrel shaft is capable of rotating about the longitudinal axis. Each of the mandrel arms is disposed and rotatable about the longitudinal axis. The at least one expansion element is expandable radially away from the respective mandrel arm relative to the longitudinal axis. The convolutely wound web material is disposable about each of the mandrel arms. Further, the at least one expansion element is expandable into contacting and releasable engagement with the convolutely wound web material. The convolutely wound web material is fixably and releasably disposed about each of the mandrel arms.
