Abstract: Method for predicting the presence of product defects during an intermediate processing step of a thin product wound in a roll, which provides for—receiving a roll of thin product that has been assigned a unique identification code stored in a database system, this latter containing process and/or product parameters detected in the production steps of said thin product wound in said roll upstream of said intermediate processing step, associated with said unique identification code, —accessing said database system, —entering one or more of the process and/or product parameters associated with the unique identification code of said roll contained in said database system in a predictive model, which uses a correlation, created by means of machine learning logics, from historicized values related to the process and/or product parameters output from said intermediate processing step and historicized values related to process and/or product parameters of the same rolls detected in the production steps of said rolls upstream of said intermediate processing step, in order to predict product parameters output from said intermediate processing step, —comparing said aforesaid product parameters with respective predefined limit values, —generating predictive diagnosis information of thin product defects based on the result of said comparison.

Abstract: A collating path for flat goods with: a conveying apparatus, which has, in its longitudinal direction, a plurality of collecting areas, arranged one behind the other, into which the goods are collected and are transported at a conveying speed in a conveying direction; at least one exchangeable feeder station or a plurality of exchangeable feeder stations that keep goods in stock and are arranged along the conveying apparatus in such a way that the goods stocked in the feeder stations can be deposited in the collecting areas; and a control device, which is coupled to the conveying apparatus and the feeder stations so as to control the deposition of the goods from the feeder station into the collecting areas. In order to more flexibly design such a collating path, guaranteeing a compact structure, and to make as simple as possible an equipping of the collating path with feeders and as simple as possible an exchange of feeders, provision is made so that the exchangeable feeder station can be inserted at arbitrary work positions into the collating path and the control device is set up to receive information from which the control device determines the absolute release position of the feeder station or each feeder station along the conveying apparatus at which the individual feeder station releases the goods stocked in it onto the conveying apparatus.

Abstract: A multiple sheets feeding detection apparatus, sorter, and method of detecting multiple sheets feeding are provided which can ensure reliable detection of multiple sheets feeding without causing any damage to target objects and can increase the processing capability by high-speed detecting operations. The multiple sheets feeding detection apparatus comprises a passage detector that detects passage of a target object, a management code detector that receives management code information wirelessly sent from an RFID tag of the target object, a controller that determines a carrier state of the target object on the basis of passage information and the management code information, and outputs a multiple feed signal when multiple sheets feeding occurs, and removal portion for removing the target object from carrier portion upon receipt of the multiple feed signal.

Abstract: A sheet conveyance device has a sheet conveyance path with a first path and a second path. A wireless tag communication device can write information to a wireless tag on a sheet on the first and second paths and receive responses from the wireless tag. A controller controls the wireless tag communication device to attempt to write information to the wireless tag while on the first path, then determines whether information has been written to the wireless tag on the first path according to a response received from the wireless tag. The controller switches a conveyance destination for the sheet to the second path if the information has not been written or to a discharge location if the information has been written. The controller then controls the wireless tag communication device to attempt to write information to the wireless tag while the sheet is on the second path.
